Can't talk in Trade chat..

I'm currently level 12 in the game and this isn't my first MMO, so I understand the whole /trade to start talking in trade chat. The problem I'm having is that it still won't let me talk in trade chat. It won't let me talk in Public either..

I don't know what the deal is.. can someone please explain to me what's going on here?

it may b a horrible design by some one else eyes but it stops gold spammers that dont want to try to level up to 15 to spam stuff in chat

They just sit in Pront in Ch1 and spam in normal chat. Now with the reduction of channels, it's easier for them to capture a potential larger amount of people and switch between channels
