Cant login with existing account from steam.
I created an account on their website while this game was downloading. The launcher thru steam after downloading only gives the option to create an account and not the ability to log in with an existing account. So I cant use my email, or desiered account name. Then when I change to new info it still deny's me. Very poor integration with steam if you ask me.

Same here, I can't create an account using the WarpPortal interface from Steam. I create the account from the website and i can login using the RO2Client.exe, but it's really sad that you can't integrate the account with Steam. I hope they solve this problem soon :/

I have the same problem. You can launch the game through the ro2client on steam directory, but can't from the warpportal launcher. The launcher should give an option for existing accounts.

same heare and this is just rediculous!!!! Why shall a user be forced to create an account if he has one already !!! I wanted to play this with STEAM, but come one... get serious... either fix that or I just bypass STEAM. I am NOT going to create a second account for no reason...

We have 2 sources of registration all playing on 1 server. Steam is one of those sources. If you use Steam to play you don't have to enter login credentials and you go right in, and the Steam wallet is available for use. If you direct register you can play the same, but you have to enter login credentials and if you want to buy anything it has to use the WarpPortal Energy as a source.

Right now the problem that is actually causing the frustration is that the authentication between Steam and us is not allowing easy registration and login like it should. We are working to fix this ASAP as it is the biggest deal for the game deplyment.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up just launching the game from the exe in the install folder bypassing steam. Its kind of a pain having to search thru forum posts to figure out how to launch a game from a service like steam that is meant to make it easy. A simple fix would be to just skip the WP account creation and allow ppl to log in using an existing WP account. I am assuming most ppl who are playing this game are returning players from the first Ragnarok, and already have a WP account.

Hope you get it fixed soon, and I hope that the solution doesnt mess with ppl that have manualy created accounts on the website, or who had existing accounts already.

I cannot register on the website either, I filled out all the information, but when clicking register NOTHING happens.

i also used the bypass trick (to run the ro2client.exe directly) and now I have another issue that I also had in the beta... when the launcher window opens and the game is ready to start, I press the "Start" button and it just closes the window. I am sure it is a hackshield issue but I have no idea how to overcome that, and I know that it does not impact many users which means that I may have to wait a long time to see it resolved. I had reported it in closed beta and got 'promised' that it will be fixed by the release date but seems it is not... well... I am downloading the playpark version :(

You need to set it as a trusted application in your antivirus or firewall or both. I had the exact same issue so that is what I did. I went into my firewall and selected the game folder, and told it to set all files and subfolders as trusted. After doing so the game launched.

Agreed with ntall1, if it is just a close down with no error prompt it has in my experience been AV related. Which AV are you using?
Manos95 May 2, 2013 @ 12:19pm
I use comodo firewall and avast antivirus. I added the whole folder (including subfolders) in comodo's trusted files (and validated that it actually added all files in the list) and then disabled all shields in avast temporarily for 10 min. I run the game and ... the still same :'(

Using Comodo go to your Defense+ tab > Click on Trusted Files > On the right side click Add > Navigate to the install folder. (Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Ragnarok Online 2 > Click the install folder and check the box on the bottom to include subfolders and files. > Then click ok.

Then you might have to do the same inside Avast. I do not use Avast so cant help ya there. But I am sure you just have to add it to the trusted applications. Also make sure that comodo hasnt sandboxed it.
