Looking for a free similar game.
For many years now, players in Europe has been unable to play RO2 bc of, from my understanding, them not accepting the EU GDPR law. I loved this game so much and was really sad when I couldn't play anymore, I still have it installed in hope that Europe will be able to play again. But in the meantime, I'm looking for another free MMORPG game in same or similar style. Any suggestions?

Don't know if you will see this message. You can play RO2 even in EU. Go to your library, right click on it, go to the local folder of the game and launch RO2 client. You have to create a new account on warpportal and link it to RO2 game there.

I tried open the client the way you said but I keep getting error messages when I try to open the client. It wants to update the client before starting it but fails to connect to the server, so I can't even open it anymore it seems. I also tried to create a new account but when clicking register, it takes me to a page that says "Notice. You are not allowed to view this content". I did expect this since RO2/Warpportal have stated that EU is banned and I assume that includes any IP that is EU based. I don't have a VPN, nor can I afford to get one that would be good enough and with unlimited data to be able to play the game without issues. I don't know if a VPN would even work. So no, I can't play RO2 in EU, but I thought I try your suggestion anyway. I don't know why Warpportal/RO2 refuse to accept/agree to the GDPR law as it is just there to protect human rights when it come to personal data.

I play on EU, you can just register an account via a vpn with a free trial, you don't have to use a vpn to play the game via the folder client.
