Solution - error 02: Cannot connect to patch server

This is a working solution for the error 02 message you might receive while patching through the launcher:

- first rightclick Ragnarok Online 2 in your steam window and go to Properties
- in the window go to the tab Local Files and click on Browse local files...
- in the Windows Explorer folder look for the file MD5FileList.txt
- rightclick this file and go to Properties and make sure "Read Only" is OFF
- now open the file MD5FileList.txt and clear all content
- make sure it is completely empty and Save the file
- put the file back on Read Only and launch Ragnarok Online 2 in Steam

This worked for me, however I also did a couple extra things just in case, seem to at least made it get to the launcher.

Just remove MD5FileList.txt_tmp (or anything similar), they seem to be copies of the MD5 list. I also removed another txt_tmp file just in case. The launcher now seems to load fine.

With that managed to make the game run.

I deleted all the txt_tmp and runned the game and then the files were re-created inside the folder and the problem still persists. =/

I haven't played this game in years, and thought I would just play today for old times sake. Got this error, and now that I see this has been an issue since 2017.... are you KIDDING me??? I guess this one is going in the trash.

If you are having issues connecting to the game, please uninstall and re-install the game. We have uploaded a new build and that should resolve this issue through steam.

I did that, but it's still not working. I keep getting "Password is not correct" even tho it never even shows me a place to login. I saw the patch note that said to uninstall AND clear the cache, but I've no idea how to do that - all I did was uninstall/reinstall. This is really annoying.

[Edit: So I somehow got the game to launch and allow me to put in my username/password, but it's STILL telling me my password is wrong. There is no way to reset my passord, or recover "forgotten" password (not that I forgot it, I wrote it down)... so how do I get it to accept my password???

I had to reset my password and secondary password on the main warportal site to be able to login to the game again. Once I logged into the game it prompted me to change my secondary and I was able login to the game.
