Those robotic dogs, I'm thinking the Quake 2 monster overlords just use the brain of their fallen Rottweiler from Quake 1. That Ogre combo makes sense too, I can see them transitioning like that.
Those Fiends and Berserkers they scared me equally back then, kind of interesting to see a combo of them.
I don't think Quake 2 had mobs like Spawn though, those suckers were annoying yet deadly.
Sometimes some just too good already doing more to them somewhat takes away their vibe, I think that mostly with Vore and Shambler.
