This is a full conversion six level episode set in the same universe as and made to promote the upcoming 2D Hack and Slash game of the same name, which is in itself a prequel to the 1999 Mech-combat game Slave Hero. Strange lineage of games, huh?

I was confused visiting the official website. It says 'Play now', 'Play for free' ... but all the links pointed to the regular 'Quake' game on the different platforms.

Turns out, the DLC is embedded in the in-game menu, under the 'Add-ons' tab.

Idk if anyone else had this problem, but the music in this add-on was way too loud compared to everything else. I had to turn down to music in order to hear enemy alert sounds and the one-liners

Is there no way to play this in multiplayer? Unlike with the other add-ons, typing 'game enyo' in the console with a lobby open just kicks me back to the main menu.

Add-ons don't support multiplayer. Bowever, the "director's cut" version available on their itch.io page has a DM map.

As a Quake add-on this does not download or activate. It actually downloads a PAK0.pak file of 284 bytes

If you are having the issue where the pak file is tiny, go to modDB and download it there. then replace the pak file. add on will then activate as normal
