You can't technically speaking rent a server from a game server hosting company. But you can however run your own dedicated server on a VPS in central EU. Have a look at my guide for more info:

https://www.quakeservers.net/quakeworld/servers/ - 33 pages of servers
Even original quake has plenty https://www.quakeservers.net/quake/servers/
Those are all dedicated servers. Instead of weird microsoft azure thing from this release that is done purely through bethesda services..
You can try following StoneCold footsteps... but holy chtulhu, it's so much of hassle to making it works AND considering how crippled in functional this release's multiplayer, damn barebones, considering to any other quake1 variations. The only advantage remaster's mp has is lobby system and crossplatform between pc and consoles. Everything else feels like downgrade in terms how it lacks so many needed options and what not.
True, I won't argue with that.
I think the only reason why they went with dedicated server support via Azure is due to crossplay. To be honest, living in South Africa I get a latency of 190-206ms via matchmaking, even though we have Azure servers in SA (although probably not for gaming via Playfab).
So, its much better for me to run my own Dedi and play with friends to have low latency and a auto mapcycle instead of the "start match" lobby / listen server setup that puts you back in lobby after each map.
Maybe they'll give PC players a server browser option for self hosted dedicated servers in the future...we can only hope :)
Though on the other hand i still enjoying playing deathmatch in Remaster as well cause it's more relaxed and chill (in QW usually there are too many amazing veterans)
I fully agree, its fun to load up a quick match of DM against people of different skill levels, even with a high latency I still have fun :)
