Critical Multiplayer issues / Share your experience
Wanted to create a dedicated thread for all critical multiplayer issues that some people are having. Along with findings and suggestions.

First things first - note that I'll focus on critical issues. Like inability to access Multiplayer / Online menu at all. Ping issues, desyncs, random disconnects are self-explanatory and much harder to deal with, so I'll only mention them as given.

My recommendations in case you have critical issues with multiplayer:
- Write your OS.
- Check the contents of your kexPlayfab.log file and try to find relevant lines. It's located in rerelease subdir in the game folder.

My experience:
- I'm on Windows 8.1.
- I have no critical issues.
- I can create lobbies and connect to others, although some lobbies will not allow me to connect, and the game might crash at some point after trying to connect several times.

My friends' experience:
- Windows 7
- Upon opening Online menu he immediately gets error:
Lost connection to online services
- kexPlayfab.log contains something like:
Playfab::signin -- Login failed (Error 87)
- Some debugging revealed that the failure happens when the game calls WinHttpOpen API with parameter On his machine, it immediately ends with an error. On my machine, it works fine.
- We verified that he can connect to this domain in any browser including IE.

Regarding Windows 7 compatibility I'd like to say the following:
- There is no adequate reason for the game's online multiplayer to not work on Windows 7. Especially when it works on Windows 8.1.
- The game folder contains PartyWin.dll file which gets loaded upon entering Online menu. It also contains PartyWin7.dll, which could mean it's a separate version for Windows 7. I could not verify if it gets loaded on Windows 7, but I tried forcing it to load instead of the original, and it worked - I was able to join lobbies.
- The same "Lost connection to online services" error seem to happen to some people under Windows 10 too.
- Some people reported that enabling an option to sync system time with the internet in Windows settings solved the problem for them. This did not work for my friend.
- I'm interested to know if anyone was able to make the Online menu work on Windows 7.

Feel free to share your experience or tips.

Can shoot through floors on some maps like the water-height bridge on E2M1

E3M7 and End (Shub Niggurath's Lair) both have an issue with respawning sometimes. It will make you spawn in the place you last died (if this happens to be in lava, you can die multiple times there from this bug) I think I noticed this on one other level also.

Movable objects/doors will make you freeze momentarily when passing by where they previously were. Only when 0 ping hosting is this avoided.

Could you please explain how you did this? Tried to delete the PartyWin.dll // renaming the PartyWin7.dll, but nothing worked for me.
thx in advance

What exactly do you want me to explain? I only said that renaming PartyWin7.dll to PartyWin.dll on my Windows 8.1 does not change the fact that online menu works for me. The place in the code where it fails on Windows 7 is described before that part and it happens before the game would load PartyWin DLL.

My point is that PartyWin7.dll existence is strange, and it really looks like it is there just for Windows 7 clients, which may mean Windows 7 was supported at some point. Whether the game will load this DLL on Windows 7 is unknown due to that error message.
