Best Quake mods from 1996 to nowadays?

Hello,

I'm a new Quake player. I would like to get a list of each year's best mods. Is there anything on internet which is similar to Doomworld's Top 100 WADs of all time/Cacowards? Thanks.

If it doesn't exist, could somebody recommend some easy (or non-frustrating) custom maps to me as I'm still a novice? I'm a good Doom player by the way.

Hmmm, I think I will be satisfied with Quaddicted as I can search for rated maps by typing a year.

However, because some mods like Slayer's Testaments aren't on Quaddicted, you can still try to help me.

For expansions and map packs, Arcade Dimensions, The Myths, Travail, Dimensions of the Past, Abyss of Pandemonium. Quake 1.5 has promise, but still needs work.

Other than that, I quite like the Epsilon mod pack for visual overhaul, but it sometimes seems like I'm the only one.

New textures are nice but the models need an update too in my opinion, they are old like the vanilla textures. I mean, modernizing almost everything except the models accentuates the models' imperfections. That seems off to most people.

navy seals, it's made by the same creator as counter strike. it also includes a few fun single player missions and you can play through the quake campaign with the new weapons
