How to enter cheat codes

My grandkids are coming over and I want to enable gode mode so theycan show off to my kids. Please help....` and god enter doesn't give god mode. help!!!!

Press the ~ key and type (without the quotes):
"God" =God Mode.
"Impulse 9" = All weapons, full ammo and both keys.
"Give S 100" refill shotgun shells
"Give N 200" = refill nails.
"Give R 100" = refill rockets/grenades.
"Give C 200" = refill energy cells
"noclip" = fly and pass through walls/floors, type again to disable.

If you are using the Darkplaces engine port you need to make a blank file in notepad and type SV_CHEATS 1 in it and save as AUTOEXEC.CFG and place it in the ID1, Hipnotic and Roge folders for the cheat codes to work, other wise the game will say "Cheats are not available on this server"

The commands for Quake or the same as gold source and source engine. I will keep that in mind.

Both GoldSRC and Source engines were extensions of id's Quake (IDTech2) Engine. There's still a fair ammount of Quake Code in the source engine. After id improved the engine for Quake II valve aquired a licence and extended upon it for Half-Life 1. Then Valve heavily extended it further for Half-Life 2 and called it the "Source engine"
