Quake
Quake Dedicated Server?
Some friends and I are having a LAN party soon and I want to get a Quake game going that can support more than 4 people, and I've found the commands to this, but it has not worked, and I'm not sure why. If anyone can help, please do ASAP.

im not sure about Quake, but for QuakeWorld your best bet is nQuake.
There's nQuake packages for server (windows, linux, macOsx) and client.

Use nQuake, forward the appropriate ports on your router, make Windows exceptions for both the host and client programs, dunno what else to say, worx for me

What Quake port (if any) are you using? And what commands are not working?

This is the command line parameters I've used in the past:
-dedicated 16 -port 26000 -condebug -mem 64 -zone 8192 +set coop 1 -skill 2 +set maxplayers 16 +set hostname "My Quake COOP Server" +set sv_protocolname quake +set teamplay 1 +set pausable 0 +map start

To host an online coop server and it also worked on LAN.

I usually use Quakespasm but I also have QuakeWorld
