How do I install mods?
I downloaded Nehahra and cannot play it. I made a folder in my Darkplaces follder called "nehahra" and extracted every folder from the nehahra.zip via winrar. I tried running the nehahra.exe but that gave me an error message saying "you must have the registered version to run modified games" so I tried to run Darkplaces which didn't run the mod, nor did trying to open the browse mods option work. So I'm stumped, what do I do?

I tried that but it just runs Darkplaces :( "-game nehahra" doesn't work.

Do it again and when it loaded, open the console and type "game nehahra" again. If it says something like "game is already set to nehahra", this means it tried to load the mod, but couldn't find the mod files. This usually happens when you extracted the files to the wrong folder. I think that's what's wrong. Tell us the full path you extracted the mod files to. Normally, Quake mods should be put in the game's root folder where all the executables are. Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake\name_of_mod".

I extracted the mod files into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake\nehahra
I will try "game nehahra" Thanks! EDIT: so it says that "game" isn't a command when i typed "game nehahra" ...

I just realized you're using Darkplaces, which seems to use a different command set. It doesn't know or use the -game switch at all. According to the readme you should create a new shortcut to the Darkplaces executable and then add just "-nehahra" to the executable path.

Here's the readme: https://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/readme.html#SupportedGames

I made the shortcut and wrote in the target "-nehahra" and it worked! Then i tried to actually play the mod and it just opened up console with a bunch of text. I would take a photo of the text but print screen doesn't work, and I would write it down but it's so much text.

That usually happens when it can't find the mod files. What's inside your nehahra folder? Is there a file "pak0.pak"? If not, you didn't extract it correctly first.

The "condump" command should dump the console output to a text file that you can analyze to find the error.

Oh my god, lol there is only an auto.cfg file and a darkplaces_history.txt file in it! I'll try to re extract the right files in it. EDIT: so I extracted the files and I saw that there are multiple pak files, 4 to be exact and even with those it still won't run the mod. Is it not working because the pak files are in a seperate folder in the nehahra folder? Also i wrote "condump nehahra" and it says that it can't write nehahra. O_o

Do the pak file names end in .pak or .zip? You might have to unzip them first, although that would be unusual. About the location, I don't know about this specific mod, but yeah, the pak files are usually just placed in the mod's root folder. Try to move them there.

The condump error could be because there's already a folder with that name, but that's just a guess. Try a different name maybe?

It works! All i needed to do was to put the .pak files into the root folder! Thanks for helping me. Now I just need to learn the new mechanics in the mod because this mod is notoriously difficult.

Awesome! I'm still playing the official expansion pack, but I might give this a try after that.
