Playstation (PS5) controller mapping?
First off, really looking forward to playing this game <3
I'm using a PS5 controller, when I boot up the game it defaults to showing me XBox controls for the buttons. How can I have it use PS5 buttons instead? It is playable but I'd much prefer to have the right buttons appear (circle, square, triangle, X).

Hey! Thank you so much. That's actually a bug, it should automatically detect that you're using a ps5 controller and change the buttons. On what platform are you playing? (windows/mac/linux/steam deck)
Is it an official controller? I only tested with the official one so that might be the issue.
In any case, I'll take note that adding an option in the menu to choose which controller symbols are shown might be a good idea whenever a controller is not recognized properly.

I noticed this as well. In my case I'm using a Dual Sense Edge directly connected over USB to a Linux based system (Bazzite running Big Picture in gamescope-session). What got me searching was not only were the glyphs Xbox style instead of PS style I also realized that the button positions seemed to be behaving curiously as well. The "X" button behaves like an "A" button and the "Circle" button behaves like a "B" button as expected. However, the "Square" button was behaving like the "Y" button and the "Triangle" button behaved like the "X" button. Also, the "Hamburger" button didn't open the menu as expected, that ended up on the left stick click. I disabled Steam Input to see if it was interfering with the game's built in controller support but that didn't change anything. I also noticed the game was running as a native Linux binary, so I tried switching over to Proton Experimental to see if it changed anything. The glyphs remained Xbox style but it actually shuffled the buttons around again. "Square" becoming "A" in this case. Figured I should mention that in case anyone else notices that behavior in conjunction with the glyphs not switching. Also, game runs perfectly fine other than that (and is quite fun).

Thanks for the additional info! Really sound like my game engine might not support your controller properly (it's a few years old). I'll keep a bug ticket in my list and hopefully will find the issue and fix it in a later update.

[UPDATE] Hi Darenn, thanks so much for the speedy reply. I'm playing on a Windows PC using an official PS5 controller. I disabled "steam controller input" today when booting up the game and it actually detected the PS5 controller this time and showed the right key mappings :O

Oh I'm glad it worked! I'm gonna add to the FAQ that people might want to disable the steam controller inputs if they use playstation controller.

Yes I fixed the misalignment this morning, should be alright in the next update.

Just to add to this thread - this is a constant irritation for people gaming on PC with PS controllers, which are frequently detected as Xbox controllers no matter what the user tries. This is seems to be especially common using game streaming like Steam Link. at least for me.

The easiest fix is to just add an option for the user to manually choose the button icon glyphs, problem solved :) Lots of games do this, makes life a lot easier!
