Anyone making comics with articy?
Been messing with the trail but I don't know how to lay things out with the program. How would I lay out a 30 page, 4-6 panel per page comic?

It's not really for comic layouts, or anything like that. Theoretically, however, I expect you could pull this off with the Location editor. Just add your comic page as a map (assuming you've already made the comic page), and then add entities and flow to it as if it were a location.

Awwwwww... well they should update it with some templates or something... cause that would make me buy it. Good idea with the location editor.

Templates for what?

Oh I dunno, a template for comic book pages or comic characters I can fill out. I can't find any in depth tutorials on how to make a template. The company for the program only provided a bare minimum tutorial on how to make a template.

That's not true at all. The tutorials are more than sufficient.

To make a template, from the home screen, click on the big button that says "Template Design."

Then, click on the folder that says "Templates."

I know. Mind blowing, right?

The program wasn't designed specifically for comic books. You can adapt it easily to comic books, but it's not a comic-book-creator. It's a design program.

Than can you explain to me what boolean can do? I'm taking algebra in college but I'm not that far ahead. It's one of those intro classes before the harder stuff.

...Huh.

Boolean secretly just means 'binary.' In case that's not clear enough, IIRC, it's a checkbox.

...That's it. It's just a checkbox.
Hi all,
Nit Pick, do you mean "project templates" for certain use cases?

When creating a new project, on the "Project Structure" page of the creation wizard you can also find the term "template", but in a different meaning than what North described above. Here's an image: http://www.nevigo.com/help/assets/CreateProject_Partitioning_01.jpg

Actually, we're planning to provide project templates soon. Besides the demo projects that you can download from our website (which already have lots of content in them), project templates are empty, but pre-configured for certain genres.

Yet, I'm afraid we'll focus on game-related use-cases first. Comics sound like a fun idea, so maybe we'll also add something long-term.

Thanks a lot for your input, folks!

Thanks for the reply Kai.

I didn't know the right words to say it but yeah partitioning. Thats the word. Like if it were a planned series like. Comics 1 through whatever number;

  • Select 1st comic
  • Select 1st page
  • Select 1st panel

then edit contents. Speech bubble elements have character limits. Or link a speech bubble to another and have the text branch off into another one. It can synch up with Final Draft right? If comics are your long term goals, might I suggest getting their comic templates for inspiration?
