Articy Viewer?
I might have missed something, I haven't wrapped my head around all the features, but I tried the word export feature and it was anything but presentable. I might have been using it wrong, but it would really be nice to have a way to port a project in a portable exe to show someone as an interactive presentation or even as a very basic game prototype.

For example I make a game draft and want to show it off to someone (a game studio boss for example) who doesn't have A:D and hadn't even heard of it. Having my wrapped up project on a USB drive ready-to-go with with it's nice UI and ability to neatly expand each node and show it's content or browse the maps with entities on them with the ability to hover over each entity and see it's details would be super-nice.

Also would come in handy to give the "reference" version to programmers and artists to conveniently find and catch up on details. They don't need to have A:D just to refer to the game designer's vision, even if they did have it's too heavy to boot up the whole program with all it's tools. A small portable viewer with the project embedded in it would be very handy for them too. For now searching through a huge design document is the only way and I believe A:D's goal is to make things easier and more convenient.
Thank you.

Hey Void Dweller!

Yes, that's something we have on our roadmap! Having a "portable pre-version" of your game would make a lot of sense. But there are a lot of options to keep in mind and that we need to discuss.
But yes, we're totally aware of it. I cannot really tell you when it will be implemented....

Anyway: Back to your suggestion (really appreciated): At the moment the only way to present your game with a "visual interactive touch" will be at last the Journey.

Did you see the XPS Export for the Locations / Flow in the toolbar by the way?
Perhaps this Export could work for you, too?

I hope this helps a bit.

Best regards,
Martin

Yes, I have figured out the "Journey" is something close to the thing I'm talking about. Still it is inside the software, so if I'd be showing someone my work I'll have to either do that on my PC or install Steam, then install A:D and then show it to them, and it won't work if someone (artists/programmer) needs to take a quick look to refer to the project data. Also some people already are using A:D for pen'n'paper role-playing, I believe GMs would appreciate to have their designed role-playing adventure on a tablet or a netbook during games with a limited editing options to make notes and adjust character stats during the game. Hell, I might even start palying myself if A:D took care of all "keeping track of what's going on and what's going to be next" chores without the need to be in front of my PC.

Sorry didn't try the XPS Export, only tried Word export and it was a mess. In that regard the original design document is more helpful.

Still I'm glad to hear you have such plans. I believe having a way to make one's project accessible for others without booting up the entire A:D editor while having all it the benefits of A:D's UI and interactivity will be a huge step to make A:D an industry-wide standard.

I just hope you will make it as a part of 2.X and not something we'll get in 3.X.

I'm happy to hear an answer from developers so soon. You guys are a shining example of proper customer support which is so rare these days!

That's great to hear, thanks a lot!

I'd suggest you keep "toying around" with some export settings. Maybe the .xlsx is more handy for you when you need the plain data only, and not the fancy stuff like images and so on?

Cheers,
Martin
