Boss battle order?
I already beat the first boss type (2 headed snake) and while watching a couple play throughs
I've notice that they skipped fighting the first couple bosses? is there a reason for this? Is this like megaman where you can choose to fight them in any order?
I'm new to La-mulana and I'm trying to maximize as most as I can with one play through.

You can fight them in any order. Some bosses are really hard if you want to beat them as soon as possible. It's all up to you.

ahhh ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.
I was under the assumption that fighting them in a particular order might yeild something special. ok more exploring is due later on, thanks!

As blizzzilla said, you can fight them in any order, though they do get harder. One thing though. As you might have noticed, you need an Ankh Jewel to summon a boss. Any of those can be used to summon any boss, but since there are only as much as there are bosses, you might want to fight them in the natural order as you encounter them, since it can be frustrating if you want to finish an early stage but you're missing the Jewel.

Yes and no.You can fight certain bosses before others but certain paths in the game are locked until you beat specific bosses. For example, you can fight the first 4 bosses in any order you wish but you can't fight any later bosses until you beat the boss that opens up their path.

Basically, the first four bosses can be fought in any order. Some are more 'immediate' than others.
Eventually you will reach #5 and he HAS to be dealt with to get further if I remember right.
#6 and 7 are somewhat interchangeable afterwards. #8 I think can only be fought after defeating all the others however, and of course the final boss wants you to have beaten all the others.

There are some REALLY convoluted and secret shortcuts that allow you to skip the 4th boss, but you should not worry about it. It's really well hidden.

SPOILER ALERT
The boss of the guidance gate half unlocks a helper that is relatively necessary to beat the boss of the Temple of the Sun and helps the entire game. The GG boss is also the easiest. The boss of The Giant's Mausoleum does not do much in unlocking bosses. The boss of The Temple of the sun also doesn't do much. These last two bosses do half unlock doors to new areas though. In order to completely unlock the helper and the two doors you need to explore The Spring in the Sky, and that boss almost directly unlocks the boss of the Inferno Caverns. The inferno caverns boss unlocks the next three more or less, and in order to beat the final boss and THE BOSS, all previous bosses must be beat.

^Dude, there's so many things you said that was wrong there. I know it's a little confusing to map things out, but don't think too deeply into it. Believe me, after getting the Bronze Mirror, all the bosses allows you to explore a new important location. Also, you only need to kill one boss to make Mulbruk wake up. That, and you don't really need to wake her up to face the boss in Temple of the Sun either.

The Temple of the Sun boss is probably the easiest one to find, so a lot of people end up fighting him first on their first playthrough.

The game is extremely non-linear, you almost always have several different ways to advance (solve puzzles, find items, beat bosses, etc.). Don't worry too much about doing things in any order.

I think it depends on your weapon preferences. I like to do Sakit first, but I don't remember why.
Also, I like to do the Hecatonchier boss as soon as possible so I can get the Chakra. There are a lot of bosses that are a pushover with Chakra. It's been a little overpowered.

I go in order, until Spring in the Sky, I usually come back powered up with lots of health and stronger weapons for him. I hate that guy. Plus in this version you can get the seal without killing him first. I don't think you could do that in the original anyway.

I agree. The Chakram is really OP, especially after getting the Ring. Second to the Pistol.

except for the fact that some bosses trigger events/open areas to where you might find others (or access to be able to unlock them anyway) you can fight them in any order you like for the most part.

Slight spoilers:

Out of all 8 guardians, only Ellmac (Temple of the Sun) and Viy (Inferno Caverns) are needed to be beaten to open up most areas.

The other six can be killed in any order as they either do not unlock areas, or unlock areas only needed for the final boss, which you need to have all 8 dead anyways.
