It's great that this wiki exists and I guess most people would be lost without it at some point. But I would advise to use it as little as possible. Figuring out the puzzles isn't impossible and once you finally do it, it'll feel like a real achievement.

Wiki spoils to much though and is a major risk in terms of spoiling multiple puzzle solutions by accident. If you really need help while minimizing puzzle solutions, use my longplay, it's less risky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9YDc1Lxyd0 I try to minimize spoilers by only doing puzzles once I find enough significant clues to solve them. Word of warning though, the thumbnails on videos may have spoilers in it of itself but can't be helped. Of course since it's an open ended game, there will always be the risk of finding the wrong puzzle solutions so it really is prefereable to use either wiki or videos or whatever as your very last resort.

As a bonus, the entire longplay is in hard mode starting on part 2 so in case you are wondering what the entire game on hard mode looked like, well there you go.

No, that's not the original wiki. The La-Mulana wiki (which had sections for both the original and remake) used to be hosted at an entirely different place, but the domain died off recently and I was wondering where the hell it went.

There was an old wiki at super-turbo.net. That site went down kidn of out of nowhere last September. I used Google Cache to back up and archive the entire thing to wikia.

From what I've seen so far, you'll be better off reading the Items Lost Forever page, as well as very closely examining the manual. (Seriously.) This will ensure that you don't get frustratingly stuck at the beginning of the game or permanently screw yourself over.

I believe what happened is the database got horribly corrupted when the guy tried to update MediaWiki; I sent mail to the guy offering to help out after DeceasedCrab tweeted about it, but got no response. Probably just gave up on it all.

The necessary hints are already in the game. To ask for more hints (or for that matter more direct, less cryptic hints) is no different than straight-up asking for the answers.

Well just like relying on FAQs and such for Dark Souls using it will kind of ruin the experience for you.

Few things feel really as good as working out a puzzle for yourself that youve been stuck on for a while or working out your own strategy for bosses or stumbling on that one secret that gives you a new edge.
