[Spoilers] Anyone find any bonuses on the Gentlebros. gear?

Aside from The Architect, do the hat and tuxedo do anything?

They look pawsitively ameowzing. Isn't that bonus enough?(but nope, tried with guns, wands, sword, and claws to see if I notice any differences, and nothing).

A short list of things that the set does NOT do:
- increase gold/xp/magic crystal gain
- improve stat growth on level up
- reduce damage taken from enemies or mines
- boost mana gain
- negate lousy item penalties
- improve ship hp, damage or special ammo recharge
- provide shop discount

I'm trying to see if I can get extra dialogue with NPCs, but haven't found anything yet.

Purrhaps you need this gear to travel across the Ocean of Infinity and find the secret Founders Island.
Legends tell of a golden city. The large doors will only open to those wearing these sacret items. Underneath the Palace is a huge and dangerous dungeon. There the Gentlebros are testing their latest creations such as neow monsters. mighty machines and dangerouspurr traps etc. It is said that there is also a hidden treasure room guarded by one of the dargons of the apawcalypse. No one ever returned from there. But there is a letter found in a golden milk bottle that tells the story.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Gentlebro gear is a part of some greater easter egg we haven't discovered yet.

I just completed newgame + with it, and it doesn't affect end game as far as I could see.
