Hey everyone! Hope you are enjoying Cat Quest 3!
This is the official thread for any bug reports, so please let us know any you might find! We are ready to fix it!

Known issues:

Save files are outdated or have disappeared

Please ensure you are updated to v1.1.6 as this has a save file migration tool to fix these issues once and for all. For more information, please also read this thread:

Steps to fix:
1) Your original save files are stored either in:
Documents\Cat Quest III or \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\CatQuest_Purribean\Cat Quest III
2) Copy all the save files you want and paste them in: %localappdata%/Cat Quest III
3) Start Cat Quest III via Steam

The game does not seem to be saving

1. Right-click on this folder: %localappdata%/Cat Quest III
2. Select “Properties."
3. Go to the “Security" tab. Here you will see a list of groups and users who have permissions for this folder.
4. Select the user or group you want to modify.
5. Click “Edit."
6. Allow all permissions

Blue pillars puzzle not completing

This is due to the pillars resetting upon catnapping at a Rest Beakon.
This has been fixed in v1.1.8!

Gamepads are controlling both characters in local co-op mode

We are currently investigating this issue, but a solution now would be to disable Steam Inputs for Cat Quest III.

Crashing on start

1) This seems to be due to having Dualshock 4 (PS4) controllers plugged in when the game begins. We will be working on a fix, but in the meantime try removing them first and only plug them in once the game starts.

2) Second reason could be due to the game not having sufficient admin rights to run. Please search for the Cat Quest III exe shortcut in your Steamapps and try running it as admin.

Health bar is flashing red with seemingly no energy left

This is not a bug. You have the Necropawmicon equipped. Please read the description of what it does.

Boar charge or running sound some times still plays when ingame sound and music is turnned off. You can easily test this by turnning music and sound slider to the left for it to 100% off. then go to the infinity tower. When the boar rush, you can hear the sound.

okay weird bug for me. If I have 2 PS4 controllers synced the game will crash on launch, but if I have 1 synced and start the game and then turn on the second it's fine.

My son is stuck with [1] Health also, hes not sure what he has done, he had finished the normal campaign and was just doing quests etc... he even restarted into a NG+ but its followed him into there. I tried unequipping all his gear, didnt seem to change anything.

You will need to interact with a Star Guide to progress her dialog. Any one would do!

The map isn't completely viewable on the Steam Decks native resolution 1280x800. The latitude numbers on the left are obscured by the menu overlay. Dropping the resolution down fixes it, but you obviously lose some screen. This only really becomes and issue when trying to find the treasure that uses Lat/Long as a clue.

There is no bug, I believe! You might be missing the Running Gold chest.

We have noted others reporting this too! Please give us some time to investigate this. In the meantime, at least there is still a workaround. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I have stacked at 160/162 chests, 2 chests left on Sunset Islands (12/14).
I have found guid to all locations on https://www.neoseeker.com/cat-quest-iii/Sunset_Islands
I have followed it and it doesn't help. I have all items in the game and only checked gold chests. I'm literally completed the game but it doesn't count.

Can it be a bug or am I missing something?

There is no bug as far as we are aware!

You might be missing the Cathulhu and Running Gold chest! Let us know if this helps!

We've checked, and you really are missing two chests.

Here's a hint to where they are:
1) One is a secret chest that may or may not be hiding under a conspicuously placed starfish near the Eight Bit Castle.
2) There is a sneaky wooden chest behind some trees guarded by a Fire Wisp near the Volcano Mountain.

I'm having problems with trophies on the Playstation 5.
I mentioned it in X in a post about this, but since I saw that it reached here, I think it's worth mentioning here too.
Let's say I love platinum games, and I'm going for my 139 platinum, I even did Cat quest I and II.
But in 3, when I was going to the last island basically, after opening the three locks, killing several wanted people, the king of rats, even getting the electric guitar and sinking the duck ship, I noticed that my trophies remained at 20%, I left and entered the game again, and some trophies appeared, and others didn't, like the metal cat, I have the electric guitar, but not the defeated telo trophy.
I already deleted and re-downloaded the game, deleted the save and re-downloaded it from the cloud, and clicked Continue and Load Game, and nothing else appeared. In addition to not being able to access the castle, the action button simply doesn't appear.
I'm sad to see so many problems in this game, I'm a huge fan of this saga!

We're currently investigating this issue as it seems to be affecting only some players, but not all. (Some have already achieved Platinum, so the trophies are working)

To help us troubleshoot this, may we know if you played this in co-op maybe?
