Can't connect account from mobile or web app
Why can't I connect my account from the web to the Steam app?

I hope so I can log on my Google account on PC version and still have the few cosmetics I bought a few years ago without starting a new account.

Just checked, you still can't link accounts to steam. Hopefully it'll be added soon.
