You need to pay to advance ? WRONG. Get into a clan, and convince them to rush you at Draco. Equipment upgraded from level 1 to level 30 in less than an hour. You can do that without a clan too, but that would involve playing with other people and actually getting to know them a little, which will often get you into a clan anyway.

You need platinum to get some good stuff ? TRUE.

You need to spend real cash for the good stuff ? FALSE. You can farm Orokin runs and grab prime-equipment-parts. Craft your own prime stuff, or sell them for platinum to use with whatever (weapon and armor slots) Orokin Keys are mission rewards. Reactors and Catalysts can be aquired in some special temporary missions called alerts. Just farming: no cash, no platinum.

You really only "have" to spend real cash IF you want the special accessories from prime access, and ONLY the accessories, which are merely cosmetic.

LOTS of grind, but point me to ANY MMO that hasn't that. If you think this is not an MMO,visit any relay and/or check the number of people in your chat, for the differnt regions.

The problem isnt' lots of grind, it's that there's nothing but grind.

The only prime access that would be worth to purchase WAS the first one with excallibur prime that comes with some kind of special rights within the forums. Every other prime access is just decoration with a little bit of platinum (in-game money that is bought with real money)

Prime is worth it if you played the game and want to gear up with a minimum of fuss.

The ash prime frame and carrier (picks up nearby loot) is nice but prime packs are about the cheapest you will be able to get platnum, the 90 day credit & exp boosters save a lot of time if you can't spend huge chunks of time leveling up gear.

As others have said you can farm everything but cosmetics and platnum (which is needed for weapon & frame slots). If you have a great deal more time then money it's probably not worth it to get a prime pack. If you don't have endless hours I found it worth it. I didn't have to spend endless hours farming one of dozens and dozens of rare mod drops controlled by RNG.

Great game, can be done completely free a bit slower then paid. The whole games a grind but if you have friends it takes only a couple hours to max a frame. Not hard at all. If you play this game solo and have no friends and play free you will quit and move on fast. If you are a free to play person then make friends and run in groups or you will get frustrated fast.
