We cannot invite eachother to sessions since we are displayed as offline. We have to message through Steam and try to join the same planet/mission and cross our fingers.... This was someone elses suggestion from another discussion and it sometimes works, but most often we still cannot find eachother even when we are both on the same mission and "waiting for players."
It seems there are quite a few people having this problem. In the regional in-game chat multiple people said it is a bug and should have been fixed a long time ago. Here in the Steam discussions, there are lots of people talking about this problem.
It would be nice to hear from the devs whether they consider it a bug and if so, when it will be fixed???
I really suggest that both you and your friend talk to your ISP about the problem and see if they can check your lines and modems. They may provide you with a new modem if it is not functioning properly.
I thought there was a problem with the game, because my friend and I only had problems connecting to eachother in this game. We had no problems in other games, such as Borderlands 2 or PAYDAY: The Heist.
Eventually we figured out it was my friend's modem, because I could see other people on my list and connect to their lobbies, but not my friend. So he talked to his Internet Service Provider and they checked his modem. His modem was bad, it was not functioning properly all the time. So they replaced the modem and we had no problem seeing eachother and connecting to games after that.
Lenneth, It might be your modem or it might be your friend's modem. If your friend can see other people on his list and connect to their lobbies without problems, but he cannot see you then it is probably your modem. If you can see other people and connect to their lobbies, but not to your friends lobby, then it is probably your friends modem.
Please note, there could be other potential problems as well. If you have a router connected to your modem, their may be a problem with your router or it's settings. Make sure you have the latest firmware for your router and make sure the settings on your router aren't conflicting with your modem settings, such as port forwarding.
Also, your English is good for a second language!
im not saying this will fix all everyone's problems, but i changed my ports to match the same as my friend and i was able to see him online. i might have relogged a couple times also.
i just realized my other friend is online on steam and i play warframe with him everyday, but i haven't seen him online on my warframe friends list all day since i changed my ports.
if you dont know how to do it, just go to the settings for the gameplay tab.
Enable UPnP: checked
Network Ports [UDP]: 4950 & 4951
again, im not sure if this will solve anything for you guys but it worked for me.
hope it helps
