Drahk Master made my rifle float in the air

I was doing the second Kubrow mission, the one where you go to Earth to find a Kubrow egg, when some Drahk Master hit me with a mace and sent my rifle up in the air.

Now I'm standing beneath, trying desperately to run up the nearby tree and jump at it hoping I can pick it up in mid-air. It ain't working so far.

This is the first time I've ever dealt with Drahk Msters disarming me. If I abandon the mission or complete it without recovering my rifle, will I permanenetly lose it?

No, you'll get your weapon back.

It is curious that they disarmed your weapon way up there, though.
