Heads up: Steam Validating vs. Launcher Validating.

If you are ever tempted to 'Validate' Warframe for troubleshooting purposes, please do it through the Warframe Launcher and not Steam. The Warframe Launcher Validation will be significantly less bandwidth intensive. The Steam Validation results in deleting and redownloaing the entire game. Using Steam Validation should only be done in extreme cases where the Warframe Launcher won't even open.

I think we should also include the path of the launcher, as it took me 30 minutes to find it. C:\Users\<the computer user here>\AppData\Local\Warframe\Downloaded\Public\Tools\Launcher.exe

Doesn't really work. Warframe yet again pretends that it is not installed. I had to redownload it completely again. It usually happens after some launcher patch that results in OS and steam completely ignoring installed warframe. When I try to manually start launcher, it asks where do I want warframe installed.

Can someone help, error WAR-770709, i cant find anything on this error, since updating a very small updaye earlier today, warframe has not loaded, and given me this error code, iv verified and optimized, but with no result, iv since ran the steam verification, still without joy...

I clicked play on Steam and as usual preparing to launch Warframe pops up but then it started downloading Warframe deleting all my files. Now I have to redownload it. Is there anyway to make sure steam doesn't "forget" I have Warframe installed next time other than just getting it standlaone from Steam? I didn't validate it as I know that causes it to redownload it, same with any game with a launcher.

Game nowadays.... needs a launcher to launch a launcher... makes no sense.

I don't know if the game has just been updated or something, but the launcher is stuck on 'Checking for Updates'

i can't do anything through the launcher - if just goes to the bugsplat screen. I verify through steam, and it says it needed some files, then i verify again and it says all is well... so i hit play, and the launcher comes up, downloads an update, and bugsplat. lather rinse repeat. i can't verify or optimize through the launcher - even if i click fast enough, it just goes to the bugsplat screen.

You should fix this imho. Hadn't had any issues like this with other games on Steam.
There is not only the problem you can't verify the game, but I had to reinstall my game twice in the last 2 weeks. First time I did a backup via steam, resulting in deleting my game, 2nd time was after a crash of Warframe, which made my Game not be listed in my library anymore.

The game runs so perfectly smooth and I had no crashes in ~170hrs of game play (except the aforementioned, rather critical one), so the problems don't do justice to the otherwise awesome Warframe.

I wish i read this sooner.. tried to backup the game so i can give it to a friend. But then i got the error pop up saying that i need to verify the game files. And now i need to download 12GB to play.
