Steam Deck file size
Hey,

I recently uninstalled this after realizing it took over 200 GBs on my Steam Deck.
Almost everyday it would do a 1.2 GB download but I thought it was just "refreshing" the shader cache, but no.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there are workaround?

Thanks!

That's a known issue with Proton, and the only workaround I know is disabling the shader cache completely.
While that isn't a huge problem on desktop, it might negatively impact performance on weaker systems like the Steam Deck.

Mine was doing the same thing, it was up to around 120gb before I finally said ♥♥♥♥ it, I gotta see if there's an easy fix for this. After finding out is was downloading a shader cache over and over, I switched to desktop mode, installed Disk Usage Analyzer from the discovery store, found the bloated shader cache file and just deleted the bastard. Swapped back to gaming mode, started the launcher, verified integrity of the game files and loaded in without any issues (so far 🤞). Still did the damned verifying bs when I closed it, haven't stumbled on the solution for that but at least it's an easy 5min fix whenever the thing gets too big for its breeches again.
