Quick thinking is broken

So, Quick Thinking saves you from death by draining energy, and makes you stumble while doing so. I have encountered a glitch with several frames and died many times due to it. The glitch is that I die with energy left, even up to 400 energy. The stumble wouldn't be an issue by itself, but the massive amounts of damage I take during the animation combined with this glitch kills me constantly and it's kind of ticking me off.
TLDR-I die with massive amounts of energy left with Quick Thinking equipped.

If a single attack is sufficiently strong enough to kill in one strike, the player will enter bleedout immediately and not lose any energy. This is to avoid wasting energy, as the player would've been killed regardless. - wiki

Pain Threshold (mod) makes the stagger barely noticeable, and if you're dying with energy, you really need to use something else defensive on top of quick thinking because you're getting hit way too hard for it to be useful.
