Game uninstalled after I shut down computer
This isn't the first time this happened to me (although other times were with other games), but definatly the worst. I just played normally, left the game, and then shut down my computer. Few hours later I went to play again, and would you know it, game no longer in Steam library. The shortcut on the desktop was just there though. I clicked the shortcut and Steam started downloading the game. Before that happened it said "Discovering existing files for Warframe" (as it does with other games).

Now, in the other times I mentioned before, that would be that. Steam would discover all the files and everything would be fine. Maybe a few MB that were missing, not much.

But no, this time it was 18 GB that were missing. 18 GB! With my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ internet, that took the whole afternoon to download, and without using any other device using the internet (goodbye weekend).

I really don't know what happened. I just played normally and suddenly 18 GB were gone all of a sudden. I tried contacting Steam Support but they don't seem to be helping.

Anyway, I quickly fixed it. Here's how...

Warfame is missing from your library? Ok, before trying to install which will delete the game that isn't showing, copy and past the 23.6 gb folder to a different safe location...then...
1.Start the install process. Steam will attempt to discover files, delete almost all of them lol and then start to download again.
2. Allow it to download for a minute.
3. Pause and cancel the download then exit steam.
4. Delete the contents of the download folder relating to Warframe ( check the numerical code e.g. 230410 )
5. Copy and paste the original intact warframe folder that you saved earlier back into the steamapps-common location overwriting the files there.
6. Now this is important, find the appmanifest_230410.acf in steamapps and open it with notepad. Edit the "stateflags" line to the numerical value of 4. This tells steam that it has already downloaded warframe again hahaha
7.Start steam and enjoy seeing warframe there all intact and ready to grindframe!

you're welcome

Make sure you always let Warframe synch with Steam whenever possible after you close the game (even if it is due to restarting and such) because if it doesn't synch then it won't recognize Warframe is installed (the game will synch with Steam after you close the game itself). Also, check if your HDD isn't dying by using something like CrystalDiskInfo.

Or if you want to avoid this issue altogether then just use the non-Steam launcher which can be found on the Warframe website: https://www.warframe.com/download

I just replaced it and Steam still says it's updating Warframe. (18 GB)
Entering through the launcher still has an 18 GB update. Wsrframe is om HDD

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

oh damm sorry, I just realised that I copy and pasted the wrong link in! I had so many open lol. Anyway, this problem happened again this morning ( I have a problem with windows 10 shutting down, somehow corrupts the steam appmanifest.acf file )

Anyway, I quickly fixed it. Here's how...
