Waypoints
Why is it that sometimes a waypoint appears for a rare mod and sometimes it doesn't? Is it the other players placing the waypoints or does the game do it automatically?

Thanks

Players do. It's usually good manners to point out rares or unusual uncommons like some stances. Basically, everything that is worth it.

Ahhh, ok.

I know mods all spawn the same for players, is it the same for resources too?

Yes, but normally people don't do waypoints on them. I do when I'm in TS3 with friends and tell them I've located say an Orokin Cell, but in public groups it might lead to confusion as the marker doesn't say what it's for when placed on a resource.

edit: forgot to mention that not all mod drops are the same for all players: there's an exception to that. Any mod dropped from a container in the Void is random for everyone.

Press 'g' tp set your own waypoint.

If you press 'g' while the cursor is over a rare mod (like, say, a blueprint) then the WP will be named for that blueprint - this is a courtesy thing if you come across a purple drop.
