Is the Aklex worth it?
I'm almost mr 4 and I'm looking for a good secondary. Right now I have the Lex and it is good but I don't use it that much cause my primary is better at just about everything and I hardly ever run out of ammo in my primary. The Aklex sounds really good but I've heard mixed opinions on them. I'm just wondering if they are worth the credits and the orokin cell. Also, even though the Aklex has worse accuracy than the Lex, could I still use the Aklex as a pocket sniper if I put a hawk eye mod on them?

angstrum, ballistica, are either a good pocket sniper. do NOT shoot angstrum at anything close, or you will die, but it is one of the most damaging guns in the game.

ak lex is a good gun(s) but a bit to make. orc cells are not that hard to get, but 2 lexes (3 if you want to keep your leveled one) is a pain. I would use one of the 2 above to snipe. You don't need hawk eye, learn to aim and stack more damage :) Ballistica is my go-to weapon for several frames because the upgraded faction one provides power every few kills. It also functions as a burst gun and its weird sideways recoil will take out a cluster of enemy or burn down ice/corpus shields.

I don't use angstrum a lot anymore but its a hoot against low level defense on infested or something where you can kill like 20 enemy per shot. Its awesome, but it just isnt safe to use in most missions.

You should make it simply for mastery fodder, but yeh, Aklex is mixed opinions, it doubles mag size, some more fire rate, but slower reload, and more recoil. If you intend to use Aklex at close range then yeh its good, but if you want to accurarely hit stuff at range then Lex is better cuz of the accuracy. You can definately use Aklex at range, but don't expect to hit accurately if you rapid fire.

The biggest advantages of the Aklex is its sheer damage-per-shot and the increased magazine size, allowing you to pump out several of those shots in a row. Unfortunately, it kicks like a rabid mule, its accuracy is worse than the single version, and it's extremely slow to reload.

The Lex is a hand cannon/pocket sniper rifle. You can easily pop enemies at startling ranges with it. The Aklex is better used as a panic cannon; while you can snipe with it if you pace your shots and aim well, it's harder to use that way. Instead, use it as an emergency weapon, whipping it out when you're stuck at close range with a dangerous enemy that has to die, and unloading the whole magazine into your victim and anyone else nearby. Switch weapons if there's still enemies left, and reload it when you're moving between rooms.

Lex Prime and Aklex have similar behavior profiles, but both of them have higher magazine capacities, better damage profiles, and superior accuracy and recoil characteristics over their standard counterparts. Getting Lex Prime to replace Lex is easy, and it's one of my favorite pistols, but getting Aklex Prime will be difficult as the relics to obtain it are only distributed by Baro Ki'teer.
