Question about clan ascension

I built the altar thingy to increase the level of the clan but I didn't realise my mates didn't want to increase the level, once the altar is built does the clan immediately begin its process to levelling up? I accidentally pressed X on it and got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of endo.
And can I remove the altar to stop the ceremony?

When they said they didn't want to increase the level did they mean the clan tier? That is typically what people mean as increasing a clan's tier will make research far more expensive and increase the amount of people you can have in your clan.

If they did mean ascension rank specifically, there is not a way to revert the rank or pause it. It will run for 72 hours and everyone who interacts with the altar will get that endo reward. That is, if they've been in the clan long enough. It's 1 day per rank, so if you're moving to rank 3 they have to have been in the clan 3 days etc. etc. It is typically a good idea to coordinate this and let clan mates known beforehand so they are aware, but there's not anything that can be done about it now.

Thank for the reply. I just came back to Warframe a a few days ago from like a year long hiatus. I confused Clan Tiers with Clan Ranks, my friends thought I meant Tiers. After realising that ranks don't affect prices then we were all ok with it and now our clan is rank 9 :)
I realised too late though and sadly I removed the altar thinking it would stop the ascension :(
