Just infested spores flying around. I think those ones are just decorative, but some infested MOAs can send waves of spore at you which buff any infested enemy it touches while dealing damage to you and obstructing your vision. Meleeing or rolling gets rid of them.

They can be used to locate the hive tumors you have to destroy before you can attack the hives.
