Corosive + Magnetic
So i am prety new on the game (around 10 more hours than steam shows), and i have a question, can i have both corosive and magnetic on a weapon? I mean i know corosive is electric + toxic and magnetiv is electric + cold, so if i have electric + toxic + cold il have both combos or only one?

You will have Corrosive + Cold. It combines the first 2 elements. The other combo has to be elements not used in the first combo. Adding Electric + Toxin + Heat + Cold will give you Corrosive AND Blast because the combos aren't sharing.

However, some weapons have innate element combos on them and don't follow this rule. The Synoid Gammacor, for example, comes with Magnetic already and adding Electic + Toxin will then give you Corrosive AND Magnetic.

On a very select few weapons that have innate elemental damage like the Synoid gammacor you can have both Corrosive+Magnetic

there are quite a few weapons actually that have Corrosive as base damage type on them and you can build magnetic on them with ease but most of the time its not really worth it since Magnetic is a pretty weak damage type overall because dealing with high level corpus usually comes down to either:
-Dealing large enough damage that their shields dont matter
-completely bypassing their shields with Toxic/Gas/slash damage

The reason i brought up Synoid gammacor as an example is because it has base magnetic damage and you build it for corrosive to deal with armor so it becomes a weapon that scales both against shields and armor but naturally you wouldnt want this on any other weapon where magnetic is not in the base damage.

You can just say Gammacor, the Synoid isn't the only version to exist, and they both do innate Magnetic damage.

As for weapons that Corrosive+Magnetic is possible, the list currently is:
Gammacor weapons ( innate Magnetic )
Simulor weapons ( Magnetic )
Scourge ( innate Corrosive )
Tysis ( Corrosive )
Stug ( Corrosive )
Caustacyst ( Corrosive )
Gazal Machete ( if you have a Djinn sentinel equipped, its Fatal Attraction precept syngerizes with the Gazal Machete; the machete gets Corrosive damage while Fatal Attraction is active )

Question. Why would you ever want magnetic?

Because if you have a strong enough weapon a crit magnetic shot to the head of a Corpus enemy will deal enough damage that thanks to the 75% damage bonus will just outright delete them from existence, completely bypassing the health modifiers. Works on Bursas.

As for a status effect though... Because you want gas but you still need the status chance is the only acceptable answer.
