What does Pharoma do?

Basically what the title says. It says it relaxes fish but what does that mean?

They don't freak the ♥♥♥♥ out when you miss a spear or walk in water near them.

So they don't panic and swim away and disappear. What else could it be?

I have gotten it and it does NOT keep the fish calm if you miss. They still panic. I have no Idea what it does

It does, it should. But the effect doesn't seem to always take, especially if you try to use Pharoma after a fish has had a reason to panic. But I certainly notice the big rare fish that may spawn near me in shallow pools not run away if I move around a bunch.
