Sabotage mission coolant vs fuel
So I recently did a sabotage mission and inserted a fuel cell. So far, I learned that inserting the fuel cell is much faster to clear the mission than to wait for minutes inserting the coolant cell. Instead, a random guy insulted me right after that. I asked him what's wrong afterwards and.. refused to answer. Inserting the coolant cell is also annoying because there're ice effects everywhere in the ship.

There's three ways to finish sabotage, each one has different pros and cons to it.

REINSERT THE FUEL CELL INTO THE REACTOR: Requires destroying the fuel injectors afterward. The core overheats. Burn patches appear throughout the ship. You'll need to hack open a blast door to escape. Starting from the engine room, rooms start experiencing heat hazards that will passively inflict burn on you just from being within the room. Eventually, a timer will start - failure to escape the ship before the timer hits zero means the ship explodes with you on it.

INSERT A COOLANT CELL INTO THE REACTOR: Requires defending four coolant pumps in the engine room until the pumping process completes. Cold patches appear throughout the ship. There are no other hazards nor a timer, and you can escape at your leisure.

INSERT THE FUEL CELL INTO A COOLANT PUMP: Requires defending the reactor-start console for a brief period until the fuel cell has been pumped completely. Gravity is reduced, magnetic anomalies appear throughout the ship. You'll need to hack open a blast door to escape the ship. Magnetic anomalies slowly pull you toward them if you get too close, and magnetic-proc you repeatedly if you actually get pulled inside them. Hitting a magnetic anomaly with a weapon that does magnetic damage will cause it to pop, removing it and dealing magnetic damage to anything nearby. There is no timer or other hazards, and you can escape at your leisure.

Likely the guy either wanted to find the caches or something, but was being a turd about it. Ignore people like that. If he wants to finish a mission a particular way, he should use recruiting chat instead of pubbing it.

Probably because you get fire everywhere and as it spreads it means part of the ship becomes unusable.
I'm guessing they wanted to find the caches but never mentioned it first.

Or go for the third option and put fuel cell into the coolant.

You can always use ice + magnetic just to make extraction even more annoying.

Eh, don't care about the idiot that insulted you man. If they wanted caches they oughta do em solo or with friends. You did nothing wrong.

The etiquette of joining a public mission with strangers is that you all want to get it done as quickly as possible. If someone wants to do things slow, they should either form their own group or go solo. If someone joins a public group and demands everyone else complete some side mission objective they have, they are in the wrong.

Sorry, on that guy's behalf. It was not me, but I also criticized a couple of people about that when the new sabotage was implemented. It's true that inserting the fual cell back is faster because very often the console that you need to hack is on the way to extraction. Fire is also far less annoying to deal with than ice or magnetic.

You pick whatever is best, if you are searching for caches or reactant, maybe trigering the fire hazard that will blow the ship after a few minutes isn't a good idea, remember that a 5 minute timer must be considered as a 4 minute one, because you only extract after 5 minutes, if at 4:30 3 players (out of 4) trigger a 1 minute timer, the mission will fail.
You analyze and then you make a decision, you don't do purely fire all the time, purely ice (helps to gather reactant), purely magnetic or magnetic and ice.

Do note that a 5th way to do the mission exists but isn't working correctly because the game doesn't realize you are already at extraction.

I was doing the mission for syndicate standings, perhaps the guy was looking for caches and didn't inform me about it.

Oh, if this was a syndicate mission, he probably wasn't looking for caches, he was probably looking for syndicate marks. Oof, in a way I can kinda see why he'd be a bit mad, but I stand by my earlier point; you don't pub a mission if you've got any objectives beyond the main one. If you pub anyway, you don't have any right to get mad if your secondary objectives don't get completed.
