Do I lose all progress if I uninstall?
My laptop is running dangerously low on room, the primary drive is only a hundred gigabytes, and with Warframe taking up sixty, (and I can't get it to shrink space, because I have too little of space remaining for that feature), I am really tempted to reinstall later if I can.

Over a hundred achievements down, I really don't want to lose it all. I noticed that it is not supported by the Steam cloud servers, otherwise I'd have already sorted this problem out.

Have any of you successfully reinstalled the game?

No, all of your account's save data is stored entirely on their servers, you can uninstall with complete confidence that your progress will be kept.

I forgot to mention, at most, you can lose your settings when uninstalling and removing any Warframe data from your computer, because those are saved in a config file locally. But nothing else pertaining to your save data.

Just uninstalled, um... Which settings will I lose?

Whatever miscellaneous settings you changed in the Gameplay and Chat categories, maybe not control bindings because they're saved separately, but any of the options in the Controls category. Also definitely your audio settings.

But it's nothing important. Good luck either buying more space to reinstall later, or with whatever else you decide to play.

Keep in mind that if you do not login for a certain period of time, like a year or 2, they might lock your account, requiring you to contact support to play again, if you extend this further, DE will obviously use common sense, but you risk having the name altered if someone requests it and/or your account may be removed to clean the databases.

On the note of losing configuration or keybindings for WarFrame, realize that many uninstallers do not remove those files from your PC and upon reinstalling, the game uses the same location, so it will find the settings folder right where your old install left it. (These folders take up almost no room on your HD, so many times installations ignore them or ask you "do you want to COMPLETELY remove all files from the PC?")

You can also back these folders up if you like, just in case, for future reference.
It should be located at the following:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Warframe

Replace [ UserName ] with your actual user name if applicable. You can also search Windows I believe for "appdata" folder and then go from there to find the folder you want.

If you want to back them up, simply right click -> copy the WarFrame folder located in Local and paste it to a new location on your HD, and then when you install the game again, simply overwrite the Local/Warframe folder with your backup.

My new location will be on the D: drive, where I have much more room.
