I'm mastery rank 9. I already aligned myself with 3 other factions just now because Suda was not an option, but thanks anyway. No idea why cephalon suda was unable to be aligned with, but I no longer care. Still sucks though.
Three factions is about the most you can maintain. Two friendly factions is easy. Three will have some friction (ie doing some missions will produce friction and negative standing with another.)
Four is possible by minmax players but very complicated to maintain due to much negative standing and the need for sigils and high MR to offset it.
You can trade syndicate offerings though, so if you can find a player with the opposite syndicate to you you can swap items.
You can also build enough standing to change syndicates, but it will mean annoying one of your own enough they break off with you.
