Confused about rewards in invasions

I've completed an invasion mission 8 times siding with the corpus, I wanted to get some fieldron to research volt to build chroma.

How many times do I have to complete an invasion mission to get the reward?

The invasion need to end for the reward to be distributed. Does not matter if your side lose or win, you'll still get the reward.
Just wait for the invasion to end to get it

Only 3 times but then you have to wait for the invasion to complete and when it is then you'll get mailed your reward. Doing it extra only gives 1,000 extra credits (up to 10k)

Another thing: Under the invasion mission I see 88.6% (last time I checked) complete.

At first I thought I have to get it to 100% by completing the mission over and over and over again. Is that true? Or does it go up automatically?

You need to do it +3 times for one side. So if you do Grineer once you need to do Corpus 4 times.

Doing it more than +3 advances the progress but realistically just do 3 for one side and let other people push it to 100%.

It's not always going to 100%. Sometimes will go to 0%. In the end, it marks the mission as done.

100% or 0% is fine - either way it ends, you get the reward regardless of whether your side won or lost. Naturally if you are supporting the losing side then stop at 3, otherwise you just slow it down.
