Strict NAT, UPnP malfunctioning
So, i have over 100 hours on Warframe so far, and never had any problems until now. I clicked the little 3 triangle looking icon at the bottom of my screen next to "region" to see what it does, and my game froze for a second. I clicked it again, about 3 times, and it did the same thing every time. I thought maybe it just wasn't displaying whatever it was meant to display. Anyway, now every time I log into Warframe, a message shows up telling me I have a strict NAT, UPnP is malfuntioning, and I must forward UDP ports 3960 and 3962 to a certain IP ending in 12. I have UPnP enabled in-game, with ports 3960 and 3962 set as default. But, in my router settings, it says on a chart that I have 3960 and 3962 listed twice. They're listed as Int. Port and Ext. Port, with IP address ending in 89, but the second listing has them with Ext. 3966 and 3967 with IP address ending in 12....the game is telling me I have to forward it to the IP ending in 12. I don't see a clear way to manually change port destinations, so I was hoping someone could maybe enlighten me....I know this isn't exactly a perfectly worded post, so if you have any questions, I would gladly clarify to the best of my ability. I just really want to fix this because I'm stuck soloing at the moment. Thanks in advance for any help received.

EDIT: After no avail, I reinstalled Warframe (of course I played Skyrim while it downloaded), and it's working fine....sooo yeah, idk. It somehow fixed it, so if anyone else can't figure it out, just reinstall and see if that works, because it worked for me. Anyways, thanks for the comments guys, peace.

Maybe you should forward your ports...?

Jesus christ, man, it even tells you to do it.

i was dealing with the same issue with my belkin router. i have fixed the problem by setting the DMZ (Firewall>DMZ on belkin setup page) to match my gaming cpu's ip address.

Look at your router. Find where it has the model number, and google that full number + the term "port forward".

Though I must say I personally have tried this as well, but I continue to periodically get the same message. The only way around it for me is to go into Warframe settings, and change the port numbers to a number I haven't used since I turned on the computer. Very odd, it seems however I'm closing Warframe is not closing the ports. Perhaps I shouldn't alt+f4 out of it but go through the menu...

Also i just had this issue myself, forwarding the ports alone did not help - i had to add a firewall exception into my windows firewall for Warframe.x64.exe (Will be different if you do not have a 64 bit OS). After that it is all fixed up.

I've put my NAT from Strict to Open , I've forwarded all my ports correctly, I've passed the ports through the firewall, I've passed the Warframe.x64.exe through the firewall, and yet the game still gives me the message. I don't think it's my router, it's fairly new, so could it be something wrong with the server's compatability with the router?

Considering it is so frequent of a problem with people i wouldn't doubt that it could have something to do with the servers.

Lovely. Guess it's a waiting game now, I suppose.

u know the old saying if it aint broke don't fix it the developers should put that at the number 1 commandment I had the dam ports mapped because the msg came up nothing I did fix it and yet a few days later prob after a update mini fix the problem went away now afew weeks later new update and the dam strict nat msg is back its is not the gamer end user that is at fault its something the developers did or forgot to do all game these days don't need port mapping crap do be done by the end user because the don't know or are to scared to screw with there router settings its just lazy deveoplers that's all and blaming the end user its ther modem or there setting is BS and the fact some blame there isp is there biggest cop out ever

i had same issue. if you have 2 systems on same network have one swap the port to a dif one. so everyone is on a dif one. then restart system. for what ever reason it needs a sys restart.
also port forward it in you router. I reco mend static not dynamic

i dont have a 2nd computer on network stand alone like i said was working fine before last uptdate so in my mind if i change nothing but the game updates then ergo its the game not me and the fact that i have to stuff around with ports everytime they do a update then i wont supprt a game that cant sort the most basic of things to keep gamers playing i have over 50 internet games on my pc no ♥♥♥♥ 50 and this is the only game having ports msgs issues stuff its not hard to map a port i know how to Use UPnP: Yes add Game or Application andd Device my edit add ports save and restart still dosent work get same msg it was working now it dosent so why do i have to keep adding reconfig ports everytime the y do certain updates i just get sic of it

how to forward ports pls tell me
Yetiking 27 fev. 2014 às 0:57
The problem lies in the fact that both people in the party are useing the same ports have one person change the ports they are using and the issue is resolved.
Port changes can be found under game settings and then to just click the button that changes the ports to a differnt set of numbers.
Once that is played restart the game and then reinvite the person and all works fine.
It seems that the game servers might not yet have enough ports or an automatic port change programmed in.
