Fusion not possible
So I've been upgrading most of my installed mods and starting to see this message....Fusion not possible: Installed mod would exceed capacity. Now I have got this trying to upgrade Redirection, Vitality, Fast Deflection and Ammo Drum. Most of them I saw the message after a few levels, but Ammo Drum......I can't even Fuse one card into it before I got this........Are these limits in place because it's still in Beta or what?

If it is equiped in your warframe/weapon etc, and your mod capacity is for example full. Then if you upgrade that item, it would put the mod above your capacity, so it fails to complete the fusion to prevent you from making the mod unequipable on accident.

If you want to increase the rank of the mod through fusion, either unequip that mod and do it that way, or unequip another mod that you would not use to free up mod capacity in your armor/weapon. In either case you will need to do something in order to either increase your mod capacity or remove other mods to free up used capacity.

It likely means you either hit the limit for upgrading the mod (the dots on the left hand side) or you hit the limit on mod points for your weapon/warframe as the point limit without a Catalyst/Reactor is 30, with is 60.

Ok so when you fill the bar on the left hand side of the card and gain a pip on your mod, it bumps the level of the mod up say from 4 to 5 and then exceeds the limit of my warframe or weapon and I get this message?

Yes, look at your mod capacity and how much is remaining prior to doing this. If for example you have no remaining mod capacity (upper right above your 8 mods installed) so that this number displays a 0, that means any installed mod that you attempt to increase the rank of through fusion will display an error message to prevent accidental leveling that would make the item unable to be equiped.

You can get One-timeuse Catalyst/reactor blueprints from either 7-day login rewards or Alert missions with a ? reward. I believe you can also get pre-built ones from login rewards as well.

There was a reactor from a ? alert 9 hours ago, never really had a use for it but started to give twitter a look because of the alert updates. Seems there's usually 1 catalyst/reactor reward per day, just gotta be awake/able to play when they are up.

If/When I aquire a Catalyst/Reactor, and say I equip it on a weapon/warframe......is it removable down the road or is it forever tied to that item?

it is forever tied to that warframe/weapon
