HEK or BOLTOR?
So.. I have 500 Alloy plates and can build either one next..

I have Lex, Bronco and Lato Vandal for side arms..

Willing to make another sidearm if it will compliment my primary weapon of HEK or BOLTOR better.. I am using WYRM and RHINO warframe.

Hek just got nerfed, go Boltor.

Boltor would complement Bronco well since Boltor is a good mid-range rifle, and the Bronco is a close range shotgun-type handgun. I haven't (yet) got the Hek, so I don't know precisely how far it's 'longer-range shotgun' performance allows for. If it's best at close to mid-range (not long-range), then maybe team it with the Lex (for distant head-shot sniping).

Tbh, Boltor -and- Hek are supposedly great weapons... so i'd get both, eventually anyway.

PS: Though, i'm currently using the Boltor myself, and it's sick-good. Levels up really fast too due to the fast fire-rate.

Hek has very powerful single shot but low fire rate, only 4 shots and big reload time. It can be adjusted by mods. Boltor has big fire rate, but this weapon is for close and middle range combat. It's acuracy is bad on big distances.

Been using the Boltor for a while now. Great for certain situations eg taking down heavily armoured targets, mowing down hordes of Infested running straight at you. However due to the slowness of the projectiles (not fire rate), found it less handy than the Strun for chaotic fights where everyone is running around. Also noticed that my accuracy rating took a dive when I first started using the Boltor (from 80-90% per mission to below 50%) - I think this is because a lot of projectiles seem to miss beyond a certain range.

While I like the Boltor, I'm seriously considering switching back to the Strun since it seems better suited to shooting on the run and is a lot more ammo efficient. Might try the Hek when I unlock it, but not sure if I want the narrower spread (and smaller clip size).

I just decided to go with the Boltor..

Saw a video on youtube of the Hek.. As good as it seems.. I can't help but notice the awful recoil.. The screen shake so violently as if it is a Scindo.. And I feel nausea being around Scindo/Fragor players... So Boltor it is..

edit: I was wondering.. what is a good automatic pistol? All my pistols are semi-auto / click click click click to fire..

I prefer to hold my left mouse button down and control spray instead of clicking like a mad man with the aklato/akbolto, etc. Any recommendations?

Eventurally you need to level your mastery so you should get both anyway.

I didn't like the constant rapid clicking of semi-autos (felt I was abusing my mouse!). For full autos, I guess most would recommend the Viper or Dual Vipers, though looking at the stats they must eat ammo like crazy. Personally enjoyed using the single Furis (not Afuris) - for me it has a nice balance of fire rate vs ammo conservation - plus a great sound (the sort that Warhammer orks would appreciate!).
