Thank you very much, I think it will be very helpful!
It would be nice if you would put an alert sound preview somewhere on the website so the new users know what sound to expect.
Yes, I think a preview would indeed help.
For now, you can check the preview here.
A sound you hear on the website and on the default mobile version: http://www.kingtaro.com/warframe/mobile/apps/m_tada.mp3
And this is the sound on the alternative mobile version: http://www.kingtaro.com/warframe/mobile/apps/somthings_wrong.mp3
Thanks for the sound previews.
Today, when I checked the web app from work I found a problem with 1360x768 resolutions. You can barely see the "Sound: ON Alert: ON" buttons on the bottom, especially if you have the windows taskbar on the bottom to occupy 2 rows with small icons (I usually have lots of windows open, so I need the second row if I ever want to find the right application in the taskbar).
Not a big inconvenience, but I thought I should mention it.
Alright, a scrollbar should appear now if it doesn't fit completely on the screen.
Thanks for the feedback, Adrian!
Regards,
Taro.
So please post your username that you used to register on the app in this thread after you've registered, so I know who to approve.
This is just a security measure I'm obliged to take, to prevent people from spamming false alerts.
Does the app need to be on-screen and active to alert me?
Alternative version btw.
That's correct, the app should be running in the background if you want to hear the sound notification. It will also run at a lower frame rate when in the background, making it a bit interesting for the bateries.
If you didn't hear the sound while the app was running in the background, it could be due to your batery settings or the phone properties.
A few android phone freeze all the programs running in the background.
@Lazu
I'm really glad to it man! Thank you Lazu!
Btw, for those who wonder how it looks like on the Android:
http://i54.tinypic.com/29tw5u.jpg
Huawei Ascend P1, no power saving (high performance), no battery apps,
android ver. 4.0.3
My only guess would be that the phone itself was setup to freeze apps in the background. While the app worked on most tested android devices, there was one other android phone that would freeze the apps running in the background and to prevent this, you'd need to hack the phone itself.
I'll have to test somehow if the apps get frozen when they're running in the background.
But i can atleast open the app once in a while to check for new alerts, so thank you for making it, very useful.
Thanks for the support, Airetam!
I've approved your account, so you'll be able to submit a new alert!
Thank you for your support!
Regards,
Taro.
