The fact you made this post makes me feel like it's the latter.
1. Chinese Warframe doesn't want a mythological god of theirs to be disrespected
2. Trap is a slur used commonly against Trans people and in all rights isnt a good word, certainly not when in reference to a mythological god that people actually like.
I only see people get banned/kicked for being idiots or saying out of pocket stuff that doesn't need to be said
The irony of that last sentence
Are you aware that in some countries, you can be put to death for disrespecting the prophet Mohammad or even drawing a simple pencil sketch of him? In a small number of other countries, openly saying offensive comments about Jesus Christ and/or the god of the Christians might get you a stay in jail.
Chinese mythology may be a joke to the followers of Abrahamic religions but it is true that there are a large number of people around the world who believe in the ancient pantheon of their own culture as much as many Christians, Muslims, and Jews do their own singular deity.
Most people won't have to worry about getting kicked, but you will.
They don't make rants any more about how they're going to make chat a living hell for everyone involved. Nor do they go to forums or news sites to start personal flame wars including tons of profanity and even racial slurs.
But DE has also taken a bunch of steps to prevent players from gathering evidence against the psycho moderators. It's hard to tell if they're less nuts or if they're equally as nuts and just are supposed to stay quiet and anonymous all the time.
'Nezha is a trap' is still banworthy, yep.
Weird projection, but ok.
So countries full of crazy people. Got it.
Asked loaded question on forums.
Gets valid answers.
Mocks said answers.
...
Might as well just go let loose in region chat FAFO, because no one here is interested in how edgy you want to be.
I do think censorship other than the law (eg. death threats) is bad, but I also think DE is trying to create a "safe space" for the majority of their playerbase, which is ofc the right thing to do as a company. A lot of people here are actually trying to defend and justify censorship (although most of it is just virtue signaling).
