Are chat mods still power tripping Reddit mods?

Haven't played the game since Railjack released and was a huge disappointment at the end of 2019. Game was in a low point then and I remember the mods in chat would ban and mute you over any little thing they felt like for no reason. Are they still power tripping Reddit mods that ban anyone for saying Nezya is a trap or have the devs got them under control these days to not mute and ban people over a meme.

I didn't say anything in game. They were power tripping and banning and muting everyone for saying a meme. I'm just curious if they are still that way today or not.

Not true. The word trap was never intended to be used to trans people. It has nothing to do with them. The word originates from boy prostitutes dressed as women. Sometimes as deception. Which funnily enough is more common in asian countries. It has since then more jokingly been used to indicate men with feminine features or men dressing like women. It has nothing to do with a man wanting to be a woman or changing their sex. It can only be a trap if the persons sex is male and they pretend to be something else to deceive.

Are you aware that in some countries, you can be put to death for disrespecting the prophet Mohammad or even drawing a simple pencil sketch of him? In a small number of other countries, openly saying offensive comments about Jesus Christ and/or the god of the Christians might get you a stay in jail.

Chinese mythology may be a joke to the followers of Abrahamic religions but it is true that there are a large number of people around the world who believe in the ancient pantheon of their own culture as much as many Christians, Muslims, and Jews do their own singular deity.

Ennh. Kinda yes, kinda no. They're less outwardly crazy.
They don't make rants any more about how they're going to make chat a living hell for everyone involved. Nor do they go to forums or news sites to start personal flame wars including tons of profanity and even racial slurs.
But DE has also taken a bunch of steps to prevent players from gathering evidence against the psycho moderators. It's hard to tell if they're less nuts or if they're equally as nuts and just are supposed to stay quiet and anonymous all the time.
'Nezha is a trap' is still banworthy, yep.

People do get long bans for relatively minor offenses if that's what you're asking. Granted, that's if you take the complaints here at face value, because that's mostly where I hear the ban stories.

I see much more unhinged stuff in region chat today, some things will still get you banned ofc but its much better now imo.
I do think censorship other than the law (eg. death threats) is bad, but I also think DE is trying to create a "safe space" for the majority of their playerbase, which is ofc the right thing to do as a company. A lot of people here are actually trying to defend and justify censorship (although most of it is just virtue signaling).
