Spoilers Ahead youve been warned.

After the New War, we are yet again SLAMMED with characters referencing interesting conversations that all happened off camera. Its all highly slimmed down SUPERCUT version of what we SHOULD have got.

We as the audience are told that its a time loop, where? when? who? told us this information?
We go back and apparently give them information off camera where Albrect is being held.
Ok, why? how did we know?
Why are we talking to the "bad guy" like we know him? Why is it referenced that he cares for this city too?|
Why are there no logistical conversations held ever in this game? No game plan everything is BAM ACTION GO, GO GO GO. We as the player are left out of the loop and told the bare minimum.

Why are we supposed to care for these characters after weve only seen them for 45 minutes? Sure their deaths are sad, but why are we supposed to care?
Why weren't they given more screen time of them as the Hex Unit? Their entire relationship is held together by a facade of complexity, im sure the writers did work but it wasnt incorporated/given a single moment to breath.
The fact that they know Albrect as they call him Doc, we can assume he turned the Hex unit into Proto-frames.

Do the plot holes really never end?
Im assuming the bulk of lore for these characters were gonna get besides 5 lines of radio chatter in missions is going to be from Rankups in the new hub. Im sure thats going to be as RIVETING as moving sand while listening to a single paragraph of dialog attempting to flesh out characters faster than Dom and his family can race a submarine.
Cmon DE, do better, wheres the creative writing? Wheres the little conversations between characters? Why are we left out of everything in this game? You want us to care but give us straws to grasp onto.

This is just a rant of someone whos been playing since stamina was a thing, I really just want this games story to be better but alas ill probably never get it as their 4 year project the New War was just a disappointment.

It does feel like an abridged version of a story. Like the potential is all there for a great story, but we just get the youtube highlights version of it.

Though, considering how it ends, I THINK that may have been the whole point? Like we got a quick snapshot of what will happen if everything goes wrong, and the actual syndicate/hub we've unlocked will let us go through the story properly? Though it would be optimistic to assume that there will be a ton of storyline involved in syndicate progress, they might have some important cutscenes at rank milestones, or special story missions, or something.

Im not here to debate meaningless topics, im here to rant about how the story left much to be desired and DE will likely never evolve from how they currently write.

Cant really expect elevated thought from someone who glazes DE so hard they spent money on wayfinders.

It's honestly wild how this was hyped up to be one of the biggest updates we've ever gotten, but the story was the most nonsensical thing they could think of.

How we got to the 1999 universe? Not explained
How the proto-frames got powers? Not explained
What the techno virus is? Not explained
Who the new faction is? Not explained
How it keeps looping like duviri? Not explained

It's kinda funny that there was so much implication that this would be tied in to Dark Sector, and if they had actually done that, it could have helped to explain a lot of things they didn't explain.

DE isnt really good at story since Duviri ,maybe because steve is not in charge of the game ,so the game now has more game content ,but bad story telling ,sometime you had to use your imagination connect the tiny clue you found in story ,the bad guy i assume is the women with bike ,that shadow thing been around with operator since "Chains of Harrow " quest.

Because Drifter / operator "want" to make friends with them and save them through this terrible fate ,Albrecht tell operator "if you want to save them ,you must know them" ,seems like the reset button only works when Operator / drifter are in Dying ,so Albrecht shoot operator / drifter at the end.

so far i am very happy on everything on 1999 ,just the story are let down ,hope DE learn how to do a better story telling in 2025 ,also hope that Lich update in 2025 has the full story of warframe 1999.
