Conclave is already a nightmare to balance, so doubt they'll ever implement a battle royal. FFA conclave is a thing though so that's the closest we're gonna get to a battle royal.
Yet they still bring around the snowball alerts which is purely PVP, and expect everyone to play it three times to get the rewards from a single one of those alerts
Meh. My impression is that DE does this as a seasonal gift to the players who still play Conclave OR as a light-weight PVP mode that does not have much in the way of high-stakes.
I am PVE-oriented myself but I would like to see Conclave revamped or replaced with a better system. How popular is Lunaro amongst those of us who are members of large, active clans? I am a WF-introvert, so I focus exclusively on solo'ing and don't keep up on everything going on with the multiplayer scene.
Aside from the recent crap that Bungie's executive team pulled, Destiny 2 has a lot more care and thought put into it's PVP. I get why we see players who prefer beating on each other rather than space-aliens and intergalactic god-things, go there to tea-bag and emote over the virtual corpses of their fellow players.
edit: The faces you can select and mix/match is a weird choice and male faces are difficult to make look good.
Quite a huge number of titles have caused their studio to fail and bankrupt because there were/are too many "competitive On line shooters" on the market and players will always flock back to games they feel are populated the most.
As a game-mode into Warframe ?
Not going to happen, since it would require DE to massively invests in hosting dedicated servers. What DE is using right now, Peer2Peer and Host Migration, would make this mode a ghost-town in a week, no matter how balanced or original the take on the BR genre is.
