Flesh Loid sucks
"As we're getting our first peek into what the future of warframe, you know what I wanted to hear? Some old guy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and whining about his ex-boyfriend leaving for what are EXCEEDINGLY and OBVIOUSLY good reasons." -Literally No one.

When he helped me fight the murmur, I was hoping the murmur would kill him.
He did not have a SINGLE LINE that didn't reference the fact that he's pissed at Entrati. I was in a pretty good mood as the quest started, but as this dude kept talking I was so tempted to close the game. Other people are complaining that the quest was too short, but if it was any longer I wouldn't have been able to put up with Loid's CONSTANT attitude to finish it.

This is why I play with the sound off, and dont read the dialogue. My health insurance doesnt cover the level of cringe injuries I would sustain.
it's not really that bad, the cringe is only at the start, after that it's ok, especially with the funny animals

Flash Loid is SUPPOSED to be annoying. You are not supposed to like him.
A bad design choice on purpose, is still a bad design choice
Disliking a character isn't necessarily bad design. Doesn't bother me particularly, he's a hurt character who's bitterness comes through. Ultimately he tells you to get on with the mission but still expresses bitterness. Like there's nothing uncharacteristic about that. I'd have thought it was straight forward.

That is true, sometimes characters are designed to be disliked but I would also point out that actors like Tim Curry for example have given life and likability to characters that otherwise are almost one note. Sometimes its the writing for a character or the performance but in this case I guess the portrayal didn't hit any positive buttons for at least some of the audience.

The next thing DE should include are human characters who identify as animals, since this happens in reality and it is a minority that the multicultural team of various beliefs, sexual orientations and gender identities has left outside.

If FerociouslySteph played this game she/her would be extremely angry feeling left out.
We already had a... trans character I guess? Ticker in Fortuna. Classy, collected, pretty badass for a niche character.

DE CAN make those themes good. They just didn't.

I mentioned it in another thread I believe; but Cam Rogers was the head writer starting with Plains of Eidolon and ending around Duviri. They now are the head Voice over Director and an additional writer sorta like how DE Steve was doing before after making Cam Roger head writer. I think he also might be playing one of those fish things, but that could just be me. Cam recommended Adrian C. Bott for the lead writer role so I believe unless this was previously written before (Deimos had some elements that were originally planned for after New War but got moved forward so they had something to show at the beginning of Covid and all) this would be at least partially their work.

I would look of their book listings, Twitter (now X), or other work for ideas of their writing style, handling of relationships, or world views. All useful of course for being able to pull from for writing even in Science Fantasy type genres like this one.

I felt more for Tagfer and his waifu than the main plot of this addition. Let that sink in.

So you're telling me that the quest that looked like it'll delve more into Man in The Wall lore is more "old guy complains about relationship problems" than "Man in the Wall lore" well damn I was looking forward to that quest oh well

I like the dual meaning of the title…

Imo it fits the character well.
You need to consider that the orokin times were different and basically everyone was an entitled brat (as far as their status allowed)

It creates an interesting difference between necraloid and meatloid.
It might also tie into future story because the void is influenced by strong emotions.
Every other Orokin is written with this in mind, but they were written to actually be likable/entertaining. During my playthrough, I was also telling Loid to just stfu for once.

TBH his constant whining did kind of ruin the immersion for me. I mean, did they really have to make him be so obnoxious? Is there no way they could've written his dialogue better? Could they not have made his backstory and personality different so it's not required? It all just feels so unnecessary.

If you want more immersion, go for a swim.

It is just bad cliche not fitting the game. The good part was that they managed to connect it to the Entrari. The bad part was that they actually did it.

What if the character was not supposed to be an earlier version of the now already established Necraloid version of Loid? Would the characterization be as annoying if it didn't have a feeling of trying to define an existing character?
