Man in the Wall... Reliquary drive?
If you've seen him, then you know what I'm talking about.

Did anyone get a good look at his hands?!

Of course, they've been teasing that connect for years going as far back as Railjack's initial release. Albrecht's diaries from Deimos all but confirmed it too, before the proper introduction in New War.

Yeah pretty much everyone immediately noticed that the giant statue at the end of The New War is missing a finger.

it does bear mentioning that the player is implied to have the actual original finger. all other reliquary drives use albrecht-produced copies.

pretty sure its more implied that the zariman is the real finger since its the "flagship"

I only just did New War about 8 hours ago, so it was first time seeing him. Was just so awe struck I didn't make the connection. It wasn't till I was about to get some sleep when I thought, "I didn't look at his hands!"

there's more than one original finger. yonta on the zariman mentions the original/s/ are "sealed away."

we knew that a very long time ago. albrecht was the first to break into the void, and while there he encountered wally.

wally walking up looking like a clone of albrecht, and using the nickname his mother used for him freaked albrecht right out, and he noped out of there as fast as he could. the fingers got cut from wally when albrecht escaped through the hole he punched into the void, and closed it behind him.

That is not an answer to my question. I don't know anything about albrecht, but spoilers say the portal chopped off "fingers".

The Man in the Wall was missing one on his upper right hand, and it's obviously in the reliquary drive. Hence, my question:

Cause those small ones were kept and studied/used right? Or did they glom together into the one big one we have?

... or is this just old lore being retconned because they have no direction.

How do the multiple human/orokin? sized fingers that were recovered, studied, and separted become the one large finger we have.

the fingers are stated explicitly to have grown once severed. then copies were made, as the orokin were said to have an extensive railjack fleet.

there's no established rule i know about that says that a shapeshifting void-bound entity's parts are 1:1 between forms. multiple albrecht-wally fingers could very well correspond to just one finger of "true form" wally. after all, operator-wally isnt missing fingers at all.

hell, with wally being whatever he is, the entire physical being of a copy-form might just be some multidimensional "finger puppet."
Rays of Apollo May 14, 2023 @ 2:33pm
Obviously I'm uneducated, and missed the part where they grew once severed.

Ok then. Perhaps he's in the process of growing them back(as of end of New War). There's was void juice spewing out

How do you all know that the Operator/Drifter isn't a clone of the Man in the Wall?

There are at least two documented stories of the Man in the Wall having an affect on others, and can't be the player character operator. Those being A. Entrati's story and Rell's, from the Harrow quest. He's basically some sort of god being, so I doubt that the main Operator is related entirely.

However, that assumption is just based on the story that I've seen in-game till post-New War

Man in The Wall---------- ha, sounds like a poem that was REMOVED from class, for being too edgy, (you know, 1 of those books)
