Depends what you are expecting. I loved it for the most part. Some parts of the story left me with more questions and I think reason is that they had to cram what they could in this 4-5h quest.
If it was in 2 or 3 parts then maybe story could have moved slower and explain more because there was very little "war" in this story.
also i think new war is fine... just not well... polished? the stealth seemed kinda broken
and ill say it i hate all of warframes story at this point seems to just be slapped haphazardly ingame for all missions
That's why your character isn't off trying to save the system. Ballas knew where to hurt you. Now you're just some dude with a few gadgets and weird laser pistol. You've got your hands full just trying to keep Lotus alive.
Warframe is the opposite of Star Wars, basically.
Please provide more based upon proofs like links instead of your usual mud slingling anti-DE propaganda and we might even take you a tad more seriously.
But we all know that you started as Vee, then VeeBee, then Adversary (when any of the previous ID's got forums banned) and now you're Your Enemy. Heck, in all my years of forum's I've never seen someone shed skins so many times in a such short time span. Imho, you must be doing something terribly wrong for that to even happen in the 1st place. Probably the contant baseless accusations without reliable proofs apart your own words are the real culpritt.
They have to keep changing their name so people can't look up their message history to see how ridiculous they are.
Several hours of very slow paced content full of lore you'll just not care about, mostly spent playing things other than your Warframe that ultimately... just unlocks an OP bow that still feels as bad to use as any other bow, and a skin for Lotus.
If by character you mean some random child that they added because they ran out of ideas... sure.
My head cannon is still that the space kiddo is still just my imaginary friend Jimmy.
A good game doesn't need a story. It lets you make your own.
You can't do character drama on your own.
The hell happened here?!
There is a story here and I'm apparently missing context.
Well, anyway...
Personally?
New War has issues... but my issues is mostly with the story implications and less with the gameplay.
Yes, I am one of the handful of Warframe players who can deal with stealth and have a good time. Shocker.
Yes, I don't mind Drifter. Story content usually gets truck-trodden at bullet train speeds because we're in a Warframe so I'm not surprised they made us work without it. (Seriously, look at the portions with your Warframe. Look how fast everything dies. My point lies there.)
Ballas just has the same vibe I do towards Twitter.
Hateful, spiteful and just generally an absolute pain over naught but his ego.
I know that's the whole schtick, but it just feels like I gotta punch the rich kid.
Lotus is a cardboard box with personality as shallow as it is feeble. Empty as it is remarkable.
She is a box that contains nothing but one (1) Plot MacGuffin at any given time. Be it exposition or motive, it does not matter. She does not matter.
You could replace her with "An Amulet of Destiny", "The Crown of the World", "Orb of the Void's Will" or some other grandiose name for an artifact of mass power and nothing would change in the plot.
You are still the Tenno, powered by the void, wielding Warframes... fighting against some ner-do-wells who don't like your probably-a-face.
Erra.
.... exists, I guess. He kinda showed up, spewed exposition in sidequests, threatened us lightly, did a squishy on Teshin's head, became Ballas' errand boy and than swiftly got offed by some rubble from the ceiling.
"Oh, but now he's Pazu-"
Why should I care. Genuinely.
Lastly, Necramech/Railjack.
Railjack makes sense. It's a spaceship, sure. Helps out in tracking down other space ships. Makes sense. Plus that cool cinematic reveal.
Necramech however....
Yeah, I'll admit. It's not really that great. Sure, it's used a BIT... but it's REALLY not required.
The only thing it DOES is just force you to use it in a small section near the very end... and than get crushed.
You could replace that entire requirement by just... having Heart of Deimos done, but give us a LOANED Necramech.... like in Orphix missions, with a bunch of 'em lying around.
The player knows what a Necramech is by the Heart of Deimos quest, so they're not fully lost... but they don't need to bedazzle it for a 2 minute interval.
I don't mind Necramech myself... but I do wish it was used better there.
But hey folks, if it makes you feel better?
Duviri is an alternative starting point... so you can try that seemingly.
There's no rules against proving someone wrong.
That's incredibly reductive.
My only true complaint with Necramechs is that there's only 2.
Much like how there's only 4 Archwings.
And a handful of Archguns to summon for the field.
As far as I'm concerned? Necramechs control very well. I won't use them "everywhere", but I do enjoy using them when I summon them.
Archwings and Archguns I feel could use more variety, but do their job well enough.
Operator is accessible to use at any point, anywhere.
Drifter is just the answer to "Why don't they let use an older Operator?", I can't say it's a "great" answer... but I prefer their playful commentary and attitude myself.
... the real answer as to why New War is bad because it's pacing is wack.
Which kinda happens when GLOBAL PANDEMIC hits your game. Didn't really stop 'em before though, so who knows really.
I can deal with stealth too. It's called "Leave no witnesses."
