Warframe Market compares prices.
There's a very key question we have to ask here: Which prices? How does the market know prices people are willing to buy and sell at, and how does it accurately report them? How does it know when a sale takes place?
It's prices people claim they are willing to sell and buy at, and a history that individual users claim has occurred. Literally all of that can be fudged with the press of a button (and has been in the past).
Still better than a single person offer8ng it for what only they think is a good price. No check. No comparison. No actual market to influence it based on demand and availability. You're attacking the one thing that makes kind of sense to defend something that makes no sense.

Free market is an excuse scammers like kireek here use to sell stuff that has 0 value. He sells the Ignis Wraith blueprint for like 20 or 40 plat. He can buy it with credits infinitely. People give it away for free, yet he claims its ok to scam people into paying plat for it. Because free market. Lol it only shows how terrible of a person he is. And I got 0 respect for people like that.

And that's the reason why every new player will always be told to never Trade Chat and use Warframe Market. Considering most of the time I've used Warframe Market to buy, the transaction is extremely quick, and I myself respond as fast as possible to sell. Newer players should NEVER use trade chat for purchases or those god awful WTB prices.

Did you mean WTS? WTB is the price dictated by the person wanting to buy. Like someone says they WTB X and I'll message them an offer, along with the however many other people looking to sell the item. They pick the lowest offer and purchase it at that price.

In Scam Chat WTBs are almost always combined with a price unercutting the one on the website, like the aformentioned "WTB [Bite] 20p".

But you don't have to sell it to them at that price. Just because someone wants to buy it, doesn't mean someone has to sell it.

True, I don't because I know it's a ♥♥♥♥ price. A newbie that doesn't know about the website and is in desperate need of more warframe slots, though...

It's not, though. That illusion of real data is exactly what allows people to scam with the market.
I'm not saying any of this to say trade chat is necessarily good either. Moreso just to say neither is without issues and it's expected for prices to differentiate within a market.
For every Kireek selling ignis wraith blueprints for 40 platinum, there is a guy exclusively buying something that he'll repeatedly list or claim he selled for low amounts of platinum on the market.

I personally use market, but it's exclusively for convenience.

Are players literally trying to gaslight ignis wraith sellers bp now?

Here's a hint, if you don't know the basics of free market, what you can and are allowed to do, what obeys the trading guidelines, etc...., then you will not be taken seriously.
It's not that someone is manually ignoring you using a button, they just ignore you.

Reminds me of that picture of some woman selling flowers with a spot of the same flowers growing naturally right behind her. Turns out we've got people not just willing to sink that low here, but to defend and justify it as well.

"Uh muh free market" go sell rocks to some children then, make some real money you can boast about to your parents.

You don't even know what gaslight means. Look it up. You also don't know what scam means. Look it up. It's what you're doing by selling stuff that has less value than it actually has. You do this by not informing people of the actual value, but use only your made up value. You do this by abusing the fact that your buyer doesn't know any better. But you think it's cool, because "free muhrkut".

Dude we'll talk again when some guy talks your grandma into giving him all her pension money. She did it out of her own free will so it's cool right? He just convinced her it was a good idea right? Totally fine mate. You do your scamming, I'll keep calling you out for it. 0 respect for people like you. 0 respect.

We're out here trying to make the game better for new players, helping them out with equipment if need be, meanwhile these people just make a buck off of them and proudly justify it with "skill issue, should've known the market better". It's not even pathetic or disgusting, it's just sad. All the different ways to make platinum and people choose to make it off of those who need it the most.

Yea and even in the real world this stuff is illegal. It's called gouging and it's under the anti scam/swindle laws in every western country. If you were to sell something that you can basically get for free for an exhorbitant price while elsewhere you can get the same item for practically free then you're gouging. It's quite simple. The fact that DE doesn't interfere doesn't prove anything. So it's true they are "free to do this". But it's a dispicable and in the real world illegal practice. So you know. 0 Respect for these people.
