If your goal is to farm dailies in the most efficient way possible then you will need optimal builds but the game doesn't force that on you at any time.
I only unlocked Steel Path after 300 hours and I still haven't started farming the og Loid reputation or Zariman reputation, I'm "only" MR13, still haven't done a single Archon Hunt yet, haven't finished my first Kuva Lich, still no clue how to get an incarnon weapon, i'm not losing sleep over it, it's not like there's any fomo related to any of these activities I can do whatever I want whenever I want at any pace I want with any frame and any build I want. Except Steel Path I guess some builds/frames just don't realistically work with any given mission/activity at least at my skill level but I have enough different frames to deal with most activities.
You can't have max efficiency and max fun/variety at the same time that's not really how build based games work you either minmax or do some fun sh*t. For some people the minmax is the fun part and it's ok, it's not for me and it's ok.
I don't know about Heliocor I don't seem to have any problem with that weapon it's making contact just fine.
Warframe in a nutshell.
I have a Nidus build set up so I don't have to pay any attention. I use his 2 to clump all the enemies and then blow them up with a huge gun. Is this optimal? No. Does it work in almost every mission? Yes.
Dante pisses all over mag. But not literally.
I dunno about that, but I'm not gonna bother arguing about it, you keep using Dante I'll stick with my beloved Mag. They both get the job done well enough.
Simply do the stuff that's fun for you in this game! ggs.

Mag is really good. The issue for us folk who joined the game recently, in the era of overguard, is how to use frames like mag and get her timing down. Keep her defenses up. Stop her from getting oneshot. Build her right. All of that! XD
I took Mag to level 60 content to try out for the first time. Lasted about 5 minutes, no prob, but as the enemies got harder, I would get one shot.
Yes, it's a skill issue.
What I'm trying to say, when overguard exists on multiple frames, and that overguard protects from status's and one shots, one can face tank more enemies. With mag, for me, it's a challenge to know how to keep Mag's defenses up. (actually any warframe with out overguard) Same goes for Vauban, who is super powerful and scales well, but one needs to practice him. XD
So, yea mag is good, but overguard exists. I'd be happy for everframe to get an overguard augment that could be used by newer players but that might just seem like a joke to experienced players. And make warframes like Mag, way too OP.
GGs.
PS: I'm learning to use wisp and titania, and finally starting to be able to keep them alive at higher content, by using them correctly. But it takes practice. It's really fun to find out they're not hard to use at all once you know their survivabilty buttons!
Glorious.
....and how this relates to your issues with heliocor, I dont have the slightest idea.
And like others said, with so much possible content to do every day, you prioritize the stuff with the better rewards and ignore the rest. Or you do the stuff related to what you are currently farming. No need to burn yourself out doing 100% of all available content every single day, after all.
