Mod Suggestions for Strun Shotgun
I've been trying a lot of new things while learning the game more, but im planning to add perfect mods for Strun. Any suggestions about mods or builds?

So it's the normal Strun? Honestly, I wouldn't bother, the Strun Wraith and Strun Primes are a clear upgrade from the base one.

But if you have a catalyst in it you basically just fill it with Elemental damage mods, multishot and the standard Serration(forget what it's called for shotgun) damage mod.

If you have the mods that increase both elemental damage and status by 60%, use those. Cheap and effective.

It's called point blank.

If there is a better version of Strun i will check them later. I upgraded some mods and damage is better than before. 912 damage but my goal is 1500.

I already have that but i want the primed version. Sadly i still have to clean my current moons to get there, means i have to complete almost 100 or more.

Just normal strun and not its incarnon?

Galv savy, galv hell, viral/corro/mag+heat depending on the faction (or blast/gas if u have built in armor strip), cannonade, crit delay, ravage.

Generally the strun prime is considered the better option, you need the void relics to be able to farm it's parts though, while the strun wraith parts can be acquired through invasion rewards when it's in rotation and so may be the easier to get. Late game you get access to incarnon adaptors that upgrade certain weapons, including the strun series, and the prime is largely considered the best one for the upgrade. It becomes very powerful.

Base damage will only get you so far btw, you need some, sure, but having alternative sources for boosting damage will net better output. Critical, elemental and status damage all play a roll in that, as does having good element(s) for the enemies you're fighting due to different damage resistance and weakness percentages. Multishot is also important so hells chamber will be a must too.

The galvanised mods mentioned above are currently some of the best in slot options for the relevant mod types, you'll need to do arbitrations to get the items to trade for them at the arbiters of hexis faction on a relay, but you'll need to complete the star chart to access them.

One of the better critical chance mods (critical deceleration +200% CC) is available from derelict vaults (on Deimos). You need to craft keys for the vault, there are four, the vault will need one but it's random so either go as a group or carry all four in your gear yourself, but they debuff you so it may be tough solo as a new player. Rhino is a good choice due to iron skin cheesing. You can get the blueprints from the orokin lab in a clan dojo so you will need to join one if you haven't yet. There are a number of good mods from vaults for warframes and weapons that are worth getting tbh.

For most primed mods, you'll just have to wait for baro to have them, so just check his stock each fortnight and hope.

So much information. Thank you, it will help me a lot.

i didn't like the primary shotguns except "plasmor". sorbek handles good but i have a think for grineer weapons.. Overall shotguns have a lot of negatives either their clip was to low, low range, punch through, or they didnt do much dmg in harder content because they need to many mods... i prefer shotgun secondary the Mera Detron & AKBroco prime are pretty good for Melee builds you basically melee then when a shielded eximus shows up u smack it with headshots from shotgun they either melt it or u can melt it after with melee.

As for strun my build is kind of old but i run Flat dmg multishot element punch through the punch through mod can be your utility spots and you can adjust the element for w/e.

-Mod Config-
Primed point blank, galvanized hell, seeking fury, chilling reload, blaze, scattering inferno, primed charged shell, Riven, Narrow Barrel Exilus

Replace point blank and seeking fury with cannonade and elementalist/ammo stock

Alternatively use tainted shell over elementalist/ammo stock and use galv acceleration on exilus; you basically turn the strun into a sniper with those.

cannonade is looking beast op mod havent got that yet falls in line with flat dmg, but ive been experimenting with elements mods and i haven't been able to make them functional testing them in the simulacrum. like it only ticks on certain elements and you cant really get more then 2 ticking on anything but enate gas/slash??. the strun has low ticks anyway i think these multipliers like large ticks so might need more testing.... anyway i here the elementist stack additively on final so playing with buffs from other players might boost the dmg a lot more then solo in the simulator.

Anyway i agree though making them snipers helps with headshot multip...

Gonna need the incarnon form if you wana mess with elementals. Strun incarnon with the elementalist balance evo can reach over 500% status chance.

For context I've been able to full strip with corro stacks (2 normal green shards) on the strun incarnon in 1~2 shots.

Yeah, something to aim for atleast. For base chart op can use the mods I recommended above. Either use the non galv/prime version of the mods, at which point swap galv apti for serration, and swap the corrupt mod for the basic crit chance mod. Or buy them from other players =x.

Also wouldn't use too much resources on base strun; strun prime and wraith exist and are overall better versions

Cetus will have mods for you weapons in rotations in the bounties, Vigilante Set.
This is a perfect start.
